I lift Up My Eyes to the Hills

שִׁ֗יר (A Song) לַֽמַּ֫עֲל֥וֹת (for the Ascents).

1אֶשָּׂ֣א (I lift up) עֵ֭ינַי (my eyes) אֶל־ (to) הֶהָרִ֑ים (the hills),

מֵ֝אַ֗יִן (from where) יָבֹ֥א (does come) עֶזְרִֽי׃ (my help).

2  עֶ֭זְרִי (My help is) מֵעִ֣ם (from) יְהוָ֑ה (YHWH),

עֹ֝שֵׂ֗ה (the Maker) שָׁמַ֥יִם (of the heavens) וָאָֽרֶץ׃ (and the earth).

3  אַל־ (Not) יִתֵּ֣ן (He will give) לַמּ֣וֹט (to the slipping) רַגְלֶ֑ךָ (your foot);

אַל־ (not) יָ֝נ֗וּם (will slumber) שֹֽׁמְרֶֽךָ׃ (the One guarding you).

4  הִנֵּ֣ה (Behold), לֹֽא־ (not) יָ֭נוּם (does He slumber),

וְלֹ֣א (and not) יִישָׁ֑ן (does sleep) שׁוֹמֵ֣ר (the One guarding) יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃ (Israel).

5  יְהוָ֥ה (YHWH is) שֹׁמְרֶ֑ךָ (the One guarding you);

יְהוָ֥ה (YHWH is) צִ֝לְּךָ֗ (your shade) עַל־ (on) יַ֥ד (hand) יְמִינֶֽךָ׃ (your right).

6  יוֹמָ֗ם (By day) הַשֶּׁ֥מֶשׁ (the sun) לֹֽא־ (not) יַכֶּ֗כָּה (will strike you),

וְיָרֵ֥חַ (and not the moon) בַּלָּֽיְלָה׃ (in the night).

7  יְֽהוָ֗ה (YHWH) יִשְׁמָרְךָ֥ (will guard you) מִכָּל־ (from all) רָ֑ע (evil);

יִ֝שְׁמֹ֗ר (He will guard) אֶת־ (-) נַפְשֶֽׁךָ׃ (your soul).

8  יְֽהוָ֗ה (YHWH) יִשְׁמָר־ (will guard) צֵאתְךָ֥ (your going out) וּבוֹאֶ֑ךָ (and your coming in)

מֵֽ֝עַתָּ֗ה (from now) וְעַד־ (even to) עוֹלָֽם׃ (forever).
