Praise Yahweh, O My Soul

הַֽלְלוּ־ (Hallelu) יָ֡הּ (YAH)!

הַלְלִ֥י (Praise), נַ֝פְשִׁ֗י (O my soul), אֶת־ (-) יְהוָֽה׃ (YHWH).

2  אֲהַלְלָ֣ה (I will praise) יְהוָ֣ה (YHWH) בְּחַיָּ֑י (during my life);

אֲזַמְּרָ֖ה (I will sing praises) לֵֽאלֹהַ֣י (to my God) בְּעוֹדִֽי׃ (while I exist).

3  אַל־ (Do not) תִּבְטְח֥וּ (put your⁺ trust) בִנְדִיבִ֑ים (in princes), בְּבֶן־ (in a son) אָדָ֓ם׀ (of man)—

שֶׁ֤אֵֽין (not) ל֥וֹ (in him) תְשׁוּעָֽה׃ (is deliverance).

4  תֵּצֵ֣א (Goes forth) ר֭וּחוֹ (his spirit), יָשֻׁ֣ב (he returns) לְאַדְמָת֑וֹ (to his earth);

בַּיּ֥וֹם (on day) הַ֝ה֗וּא (that) אָבְד֥וּ (perish) עֶשְׁתֹּנֹתָֽיו׃ (his plans).

5  אַשְׁרֵ֗י (Blessed is he) שֶׁ֤אֵ֣ל (is the God) יַעֲקֹ֣ב (of Jacob) בְּעֶזְר֑וֹ (whose help);

שִׂ֝בְר֗וֹ (his hope) עַל־ (is upon) יְהוָ֥ה (YHWH) אֱלֹהָֽיו׃ (his God),

6  עֹשֶׂ֤ה׀ (maker) שָׁ֘מַ֤יִם (of the heavens) וָאָ֗רֶץ (and the earth), אֶת־ (-)

הַיָּ֥ם (the sea) וְאֶת־ (and) כָּל־ (all) אֲשֶׁר־ (that is) בָּ֑ם (in them),

הַשֹּׁמֵ֖ר (the One guarding) אֱמֶ֣ת (truth) לְעוֹלָֽם׃ (forever),

7  עֹשֶׂ֤ה (doing) מִשְׁפָּ֨ט׀ (justice) לָעֲשׁוּקִ֗ים (for the oppressed),

נֹתֵ֣ן (giving) לֶ֭חֶם (bread) לָרְעֵבִ֑ים (to the hungry).

יְ֝הוָ֗ה (YHWH is) מַתִּ֥יר (the One freeing) אֲסוּרִֽים׃ (those who are bound).

8  יְהוָ֤ה׀ (YHWH) פֹּ֘קֵ֤חַ (opens the eyes) עִוְרִ֗ים (of the blind);

יְ֭הוָה (YHWH) זֹקֵ֣ף (raises up) כְּפוּפִ֑ים (those bent down);

יְ֝הוָ֗ה (YHWH) אֹהֵ֥ב (loves) צַדִּיקִֽים׃ (the righteous ones);

9  יְהוָ֤ה׀ (YHWH) שֹׁ֘מֵ֤ר (guards) אֶת־ (-) גֵּרִ֗ים (the sojourners);

יָת֣וֹם (the fatherless) וְאַלְמָנָ֣ה (and widow) יְעוֹדֵ֑ד (He sustains),

וְדֶ֖רֶךְ (and the way) רְשָׁעִ֣ים (of the wicked) יְעַוֵּֽת׃ (He overturns).

10  יִמְלֹ֤ךְ (Reigns) יְהוָ֨ה׀ (YHWH) לְעוֹלָ֗ם (forever)—

אֱלֹהַ֣יִךְ (Your God), צִ֭יּוֹן (O Zion), לְדֹ֥ר (from generation) וָדֹ֗ר (and generation).

הַֽלְלוּ־ (Praise) יָֽהּ׃ (YAH).
