The Fool Says There Is No God לַמְנַצֵּ֥חַ (For the one directing). עַֽל־ (According to) מָחֲלַ֗ת (Mahalath). מַשְׂכִּ֥יל (A Maskil) לְדָוִֽד׃ (of David). אָ֘מַ֤ר (Says) 1נָבָ֣ל (the fool) בְּ֭לִבּוֹ (in his heart), אֵ֣ין (There is no) אֱלֹהִ֑ים (God). הִֽ֝שְׁחִ֗יתוּ (They are corrupt) וְהִֽתְעִ֥יבוּ (and have done abominable) עָ֝֗וֶל (injustice); אֵ֣ין (there is no one) עֹֽשֵׂה־ (doing) טֽוֹב׃ (good). 2 אֱֽלֹהִ֗ים (God) מִשָּׁמַיִם֮ (from the heavens) הִשְׁקִ֪יף (looks down) עַֽל־ (upon) בְּנֵ֫י (the sons) אָדָ֥ם (of man), לִ֭רְאוֹת (to see) הֲיֵ֣שׁ (is there) מַשְׂכִּ֑יל (one acting wisely), דֹּ֝רֵ֗שׁ (seeking) אֶת־ (-) אֱלֹהִֽים׃ (God). 3 כֻּלּ֥וֹ (All) סָג֮ (have turned back); יַחְדָּ֪ו (together) נֶ֫אֱלָ֥חוּ (they have become corrupt); אֵ֤ין (there is no one) עֹֽשֵׂה־ (doing) ט֑וֹב (good), אֵ֝֗ין (not) גַּם־ (even) אֶחָֽד׃ (one). 4 הֲלֹ֥א (Will not) יָדְעוּ֮ (they learn) פֹּ֤עֲלֵ֫י (the workers) אָ֥וֶן (of iniquity), אֹכְלֵ֣י (those eating up) עַ֭מִּי (my people) אָ֣כְלוּ (they have devoured) לֶ֑חֶם (bread); אֱ֝לֹהִ֗ים (and upon God) לֹ֣א (not) קָרָֽאוּ׃ (do they call). 5 שָׁ֤ם׀ (There) פָּֽחֲדוּ־ (they feared) פַחַד֮ (a fear)— לֹא־ (no) הָ֪יָה֫ (there was) פָ֥חַד (dread). כִּֽי־ (For) אֱלֹהִ֗ים (God) פִּ֭זַּר (has scattered) עַצְמ֣וֹת (the bones) חֹנָ֑ךְ (of the one setting camp against you). הֱ֝בִשֹׁ֗תָה (You have put them to shame), כִּֽי־ (for) אֱלֹהִ֥ים (God) מְאָסָֽם׃ (has rejected them). 6 מִ֥י (Who) יִתֵּ֣ן (will give) מִצִּיּוֹן֮ (from Zion) יְשֻׁע֪וֹת (the salvation) יִשְׂרָ֫אֵ֥ל (of Israel)? בְּשׁ֣וּב (In turning back) אֱ֭לֹהִים (God) שְׁב֣וּת (the captivity) עַמּ֑וֹ (of His people), יָגֵ֥ל (let rejoice) יַ֝עֲקֹ֗ב (Jacob) יִשְׂמַ֥ח (let be glad) יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃ (Israel).
