Good News Translation
He set up military camps throughout Edom, and the people there became his subjects. The LORD made David victorious everywhere.

He put garrisons in Edom; throughout all Edom he put garrisons, and all the Edomites became David’s servants. And the LORD gave victory to David wherever he went.

David left soldiers all through Edom, and the people of Edom had to accept him as their ruler. Wherever David went, the LORD helped him.
