1Masters (lords), provide (furnish, offer in a up-close-and-personal way) that which is just (righteous, latin-iustum) and that which equal (fair, latin-aequum) to your bond-slaves, knowing that you also have a Master (Lord) in heaven.

2Continue steadfastly strong (attend constantly, towards/with consistently showing strength which prevails despite difficulty, latin-instate-continue like constant) with prayer, watching (staying awake, being vigilant, latin-vigilantes) in it in thanksgiving; 3Praying at the same time also concerning us, so that God might open a door to us for the word, to speak the mystery of Christ, on account of which I have also been bound (tied, fastened), 4So that I should make it apparent, as it is necessary for me to speak.

5Walk in wisdom toward those outside (exo- outside, without, ek root- from out of, latin-foris-outdoors), redeeming (rescuing from loss) the opportunity (time as opportunity, fitting time). 6Let your word (speech) be always in grace, having been seasoned with salt, to know how it is necessary of you to answer each one.

7All the things concerning me, Tychicus will make known to you, who is a beloved brother and faithful minister (diakonos) and fellow bond-slave in the Lord; 8Whom I sent to you unto this same, so that you may know the things concerning us, and he may entreat your hearts; 9With Onesimus, the faithful and beloved brother, who is from out of you. They will make known to you all things here.

10Aristarchus my fellow prisoner greets you, and Mark, the cousin of Barnabas, concerning whom you have received commands (instructions, latin-mandata-commands like mandates); if he comes to you, receive him, 11And also Jesus called (said) Justus, who being from out of the circumcision, these are the only fellow workers unto the kingdom of God who have been a solace (soothing help, alleviation, latin-solacio, English term-paregoric comes from the greek here and it means soothing medicine) to me. 12Epaphras greets you, who is from out of you, a bond-slave of Christ Jesus, always struggling (contending for a prize, like the English agonize) for you in prayers, so that you may stand full-grown (mature, complete, perfect) and fully carried through (fully convinced, fully assured, bring in full measure) in all the will of God. 13For I testify to him that he has much concern (labor, pain) for you and those in Laodicea and those in Hierapolis. 14Luke the beloved physician (healer, iatros of iaomai, latin- medicus-doctor) and also Demas greet you. 15Greet the brothers in Laodicea, and Nympha and the church in her house.

16And when the letter (sent message, epistle, epistole-epi+stello=arrange upon) may be known by reading with you, cause (do, make) so that it may be known by reading also in the church of the Laodiceans and so that you may also know by reading the one from out of Laodicea. 17And say to Archippus, Look at the ministry (diakonian) that you have received in the Lord, so that you may fulfill (complete) it.
