Philippians 4
ESV Parallel KJV [BSB CSB ESV HCS KJV ISV NAS NET NIV NLT GRK]
English Standard VersionKing James Bible
Therefore, my brothers, whom I love and long for, my joy and crown, stand firm thus in the Lord, my beloved.1Therefore, my brethren dearly beloved and longed for, my joy and crown, so stand fast in the Lord, my dearly beloved.
I entreat Euodia and I entreat Syntyche to agree in the Lord.2I beseech Euodias, and beseech Syntyche, that they be of the same mind in the Lord.
Yes, I ask you also, true companion, help these women, who have labored side by side with me in the gospel together with Clement and the rest of my fellow workers, whose names are in the book of life.3And I intreat thee also, true yokefellow, help those women which laboured with me in the gospel, with Clement also, and with other my fellowlabourers, whose names are in the book of life.
Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, rejoice.4Rejoice in the Lord alway: and again I say, Rejoice.
Let your reasonableness be known to everyone. The Lord is at hand;5Let your moderation be known unto all men. The Lord is at hand.
do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God.6Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.
And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.7And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things.8Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.
What you have learned and received and heard and seen in me—practice these things, and the God of peace will be with you.9Those things, which ye have both learned, and received, and heard, and seen in me, do: and the God of peace shall be with you.
I rejoiced in the Lord greatly that now at length you have revived your concern for me. You were indeed concerned for me, but you had no opportunity.10But I rejoiced in the Lord greatly, that now at the last your care of me hath flourished again; wherein ye were also careful, but ye lacked opportunity.
Not that I am speaking of being in need, for I have learned in whatever situation I am to be content.11Not that I speak in respect of want: for I have learned, in whatsoever state I am, therewith to be content.
I know how to be brought low, and I know how to abound. In any and every circumstance, I have learned the secret of facing plenty and hunger, abundance and need.12I know both how to be abased, and I know how to abound: every where and in all things I am instructed both to be full and to be hungry, both to abound and to suffer need.
I can do all things through him who strengthens me.13I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.
Yet it was kind of you to share my trouble.14Notwithstanding ye have well done, that ye did communicate with my affliction.
And you Philippians yourselves know that in the beginning of the gospel, when I left Macedonia, no church entered into partnership with me in giving and receiving, except you only.15Now ye Philippians know also, that in the beginning of the gospel, when I departed from Macedonia, no church communicated with me as concerning giving and receiving, but ye only.
Even in Thessalonica you sent me help for my needs once and again.16For even in Thessalonica ye sent once and again unto my necessity.
Not that I seek the gift, but I seek the fruit that increases to your credit.17Not because I desire a gift: but I desire fruit that may abound to your account.
I have received full payment, and more. I am well supplied, having received from Epaphroditus the gifts you sent, a fragrant offering, a sacrifice acceptable and pleasing to God.18But I have all, and abound: I am full, having received of Epaphroditus the things which were sent from you, an odour of a sweet smell, a sacrifice acceptable, wellpleasing to God.
And my God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus.19But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.
To our God and Father be glory forever and ever. Amen.20Now unto God and our Father be glory for ever and ever. Amen.
Greet every saint in Christ Jesus. The brothers who are with me greet you.21Salute every saint in Christ Jesus. The brethren which are with me greet you.
All the saints greet you, especially those of Caesar’s household.22All the saints salute you, chiefly they that are of Caesar's household.
The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ be with your spirit.23The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen.
