To you, O LORD, I lift up my soul. | 1A Psalm of David. Unto thee, O LORD, do I lift up my soul. |
O my God, in you I trust; let me not be put to shame; let not my enemies exult over me. | 2O my God, I trust in thee: let me not be ashamed, let not mine enemies triumph over me. |
Indeed, none who wait for you shall be put to shame; they shall be ashamed who are wantonly treacherous. | 3Yea, let none that wait on thee be ashamed: let them be ashamed which transgress without cause. |
Make me to know your ways, O LORD; teach me your paths. | 4Shew me thy ways, O LORD; teach me thy paths. |
Lead me in your truth and teach me, for you are the God of my salvation; for you I wait all the day long. | 5Lead me in thy truth, and teach me: for thou art the God of my salvation; on thee do I wait all the day. |
Remember your mercy, O LORD, and your steadfast love, for they have been from of old. | 6Remember, O LORD, thy tender mercies and thy lovingkindnesses; for they have been ever of old. |
Remember not the sins of my youth or my transgressions; according to your steadfast love remember me, for the sake of your goodness, O LORD! | 7Remember not the sins of my youth, nor my transgressions: according to thy mercy remember thou me for thy goodness' sake, O LORD. |
Good and upright is the LORD; therefore he instructs sinners in the way. | 8Good and upright is the LORD: therefore will he teach sinners in the way. |
He leads the humble in what is right, and teaches the humble his way. | 9The meek will he guide in judgment: and the meek will he teach his way. |
All the paths of the LORD are steadfast love and faithfulness, for those who keep his covenant and his testimonies. | 10All the paths of the LORD are mercy and truth unto such as keep his covenant and his testimonies. |
For your name’s sake, O LORD, pardon my guilt, for it is great. | 11For thy name's sake, O LORD, pardon mine iniquity; for it is great. |
Who is the man who fears the LORD? Him will he instruct in the way that he should choose. | 12What man is he that feareth the LORD? him shall he teach in the way that he shall choose. |
His soul shall abide in well-being, and his offspring shall inherit the land. | 13His soul shall dwell at ease; and his seed shall inherit the earth. |
The friendship of the LORD is for those who fear him, and he makes known to them his covenant. | 14The secret of the LORD is with them that fear him; and he will shew them his covenant. |
My eyes are ever toward the LORD, for he will pluck my feet out of the net. | 15Mine eyes are ever toward the LORD; for he shall pluck my feet out of the net. |
Turn to me and be gracious to me, for I am lonely and afflicted. | 16Turn thee unto me, and have mercy upon me; for I am desolate and afflicted. |
The troubles of my heart are enlarged; bring me out of my distresses. | 17The troubles of my heart are enlarged: O bring thou me out of my distresses. |
Consider my affliction and my trouble, and forgive all my sins. | 18Look upon mine affliction and my pain; and forgive all my sins. |
Consider how many are my foes, and with what violent hatred they hate me. | 19Consider mine enemies; for they are many; and they hate me with cruel hatred. |
Oh, guard my soul, and deliver me! Let me not be put to shame, for I take refuge in you. | 20O keep my soul, and deliver me: let me not be ashamed; for I put my trust in thee. |
May integrity and uprightness preserve me, for I wait for you. | 21Let integrity and uprightness preserve me; for I wait on thee. |
Redeem Israel, O God, out of all his troubles. | 22Redeem Israel, O God, out of all his troubles. |
