English Standard Version | King James Bible |
Praise is due to you, O God, in Zion, and to you shall vows be performed. | 1To the chief Musician, A Psalm and Song of David. Praise waiteth for thee, O God, in Sion: and unto thee shall the vow be performed. |
O you who hear prayer, to you shall all flesh come. | 2O thou that hearest prayer, unto thee shall all flesh come. |
When iniquities prevail against me, you atone for our transgressions. | 3Iniquities prevail against me: as for our transgressions, thou shalt purge them away. |
Blessed is the one you choose and bring near, to dwell in your courts! We shall be satisfied with the goodness of your house, the holiness of your temple! | 4Blessed is the man whom thou choosest, and causest to approach unto thee, that he may dwell in thy courts: we shall be satisfied with the goodness of thy house, even of thy holy temple. |
By awesome deeds you answer us with righteousness, O God of our salvation, the hope of all the ends of the earth and of the farthest seas; | 5By terrible things in righteousness wilt thou answer us, O God of our salvation; who art the confidence of all the ends of the earth, and of them that are afar off upon the sea: |
the one who by his strength established the mountains, being girded with might; | 6Which by his strength setteth fast the mountains; being girded with power: |
who stills the roaring of the seas, the roaring of their waves, the tumult of the peoples, | 7Which stilleth the noise of the seas, the noise of their waves, and the tumult of the people. |
so that those who dwell at the ends of the earth are in awe at your signs. You make the going out of the morning and the evening to shout for joy. | 8They also that dwell in the uttermost parts are afraid at thy tokens: thou makest the outgoings of the morning and evening to rejoice. |
You visit the earth and water it; you greatly enrich it; the river of God is full of water; you provide their grain, for so you have prepared it. | 9Thou visitest the earth, and waterest it: thou greatly enrichest it with the river of God, which is full of water: thou preparest them corn, when thou hast so provided for it. |
You water its furrows abundantly, settling its ridges, softening it with showers, and blessing its growth. | 10Thou waterest the ridges thereof abundantly: thou settlest the furrows thereof: thou makest it soft with showers: thou blessest the springing thereof. |
You crown the year with your bounty; your wagon tracks overflow with abundance. | 11Thou crownest the year with thy goodness; and thy paths drop fatness. |
The pastures of the wilderness overflow, the hills gird themselves with joy, | 12They drop upon the pastures of the wilderness: and the little hills rejoice on every side. |
the meadows clothe themselves with flocks, the valleys deck themselves with grain, they shout and sing together for joy. | 13The pastures are clothed with flocks; the valleys also are covered over with corn; they shout for joy, they also sing. |
