ISV Parallel ESV [BSB CSB ESV HCS KJV ISV NAS NET NIV NLT GRK]
International Standard VersionEnglish Standard Version
As Jesus left the Temple and was walking away, his disciples came up to him to point out to him the Temple buildings. 1Jesus left the temple and was going away, when his disciples came to point out to him the buildings of the temple.
But he told them, "You see all these things, don't you? I tell all of you with certainty, there isn't a single stone here that will be left standing on top of another. They will all be torn down."2But he answered them, “You see all these, do you not? Truly, I say to you, there will not be left here one stone upon another that will not be thrown down.”
While Jesus was sitting on the Mount of Olives, the disciples came to him privately and said, "Tell us, when will these things take place, and what will be the sign of your coming and of the end of the age?"3As he sat on the Mount of Olives, the disciples came to him privately, saying, “Tell us, when will these things be, and what will be the sign of your coming and of the end of the age?”
Jesus answered them, "See to it that no one deceives you, 4And Jesus answered them, “See that no one leads you astray.
because many will come in my name and say, 'I'm the Messiah,' and they will deceive many people. 5For many will come in my name, saying, ‘I am the Christ,’ and they will lead many astray.
You'll hear of wars and rumors of wars. See to it that you aren't alarmed. These things must take place, but the end hasn't come yet, 6And you will hear of wars and rumors of wars. See that you are not alarmed, for this must take place, but the end is not yet.
because nation will rise up in arms against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. There will be famines and earthquakes in various places. 7For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom, and there will be famines and earthquakes in various places.
But all these things are only the beginning of the birth pains."8All these are but the beginning of the birth pains.
"Then they'll hand you over to suffer and will kill you, and you'll be hated by all the nations because of my name. 9“Then they will deliver you up to tribulation and put you to death, and you will be hated by all nations for my name’s sake.
Then many people will fall away, will betray one another, and will hate one another. 10And then many will fall away and betray one another and hate one another.
Many false prophets will appear and deceive many people, 11And many false prophets will arise and lead many astray.
and because lawlessness will increase, the love of many people will grow cold. 12And because lawlessness will be increased, the love of many will grow cold.
But the person who endures to the end will be saved. 13But the one who endures to the end will be saved.
And this gospel of the kingdom will be proclaimed throughout the world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come."14And this gospel of the kingdom will be proclaimed throughout the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come.
"So when you see the destructive desecration, mentioned by the prophet Daniel, standing in the Holy Place (let the reader take note),15“So when you see the abomination of desolation spoken of by the prophet Daniel, standing in the holy place (let the reader understand),
then those who are in Judea must flee to the mountains. 16then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains.
Anyone who's on the housetop must not come down to get what is in his house, 17Let the one who is on the housetop not go down to take what is in his house,
and anyone who's in the field must not turn back to get his coat.18and let the one who is in the field not turn back to take his cloak.
"How terrible it will be for women who are pregnant or who are nursing babies in those days! 19And alas for women who are pregnant and for those who are nursing infants in those days!
Pray that it may not be in winter or on a Sabbath when you flee, 20Pray that your flight may not be in winter or on a Sabbath.
because at that time there will be great suffering, the kind that hasn't happened from the beginning of the world until now and certainly won't ever happen again. 21For then there will be great tribulation, such as has not been from the beginning of the world until now, no, and never will be.
If those days hadn't been limited, no one would survive. But for the sake of the elect, those days will be limited.22And if those days had not been cut short, no human being would be saved. But for the sake of the elect those days will be cut short.
"At that time, if anyone says to you, 'Look! Here's the Messiah!' or 'There he is!', don't believe it, 23Then if anyone says to you, ‘Look, here is the Christ!’ or ‘There he is!’ do not believe it.
because false messiahs and false prophets will appear and display great signs and wonders to deceive, if possible, even the elect. 24For false christs and false prophets will arise and perform great signs and wonders, so as to lead astray, if possible, even the elect.
Remember, I've told you this beforehand. 25See, I have told you beforehand.
So if they say to you, 'Look! He's in the wilderness,' don't go out looking for him. And if they say, 'Look! He's in the storeroom,' don't believe it, 26So, if they say to you, ‘Look, he is in the wilderness,’ do not go out. If they say, ‘Look, he is in the inner rooms,’ do not believe it.
because just as the lightning comes from the east and flashes as far as the west, so will be the coming of the Son of Man. 27For as the lightning comes from the east and shines as far as the west, so will be the coming of the Son of Man.
Wherever there's a corpse, there the vultures will gather.28Wherever the corpse is, there the vultures will gather.
"Immediately after the troubles of those days, 'The sun will be darkened, the moon will not give its light, the stars will fall from the sky, and the powers of heaven will be shaken loose.' 29“Immediately after the tribulation of those days the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light, and the stars will fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens will be shaken.
Then the sign of the Son of Man will appear in the sky, and all 'the tribes of the land will mourn' when they see 'the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven' with power and great glory. 30Then will appear in heaven the sign of the Son of Man, and then all the tribes of the earth will mourn, and they will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.
He'll send out his angels with a loud trumpet blast, and they'll gather his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to another."31And he will send out his angels with a loud trumpet call, and they will gather his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.
"Now learn a lesson from the fig tree. When its branches become tender and it produces leaves, you know that summer is near. 32“From the fig tree learn its lesson: as soon as its branch becomes tender and puts out its leaves, you know that summer is near.
In the same way, when you see all these things, you'll know that the Son of Man is near, right at the door. 33So also, when you see all these things, you know that he is near, at the very gates.
I tell all of you with certainty, this generation won't disappear until these things happen. 34Truly, I say to you, this generation will not pass away until all these things take place.
Heaven and earth will disappear, but my words will never disappear."35Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will not pass away.
"No one knows when that day or hour will come —not the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father, 36“But concerning that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels of heaven, nor the Son, but the Father only.
because just as it was in the days of Noah, so it will be when the Son of Man comes. 37For as were the days of Noah, so will be the coming of the Son of Man.
In those days before the flood, people were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage right up to the day when Noah went into the ark. 38For as in those days before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day when Noah entered the ark,
They were unaware of what was happening until the flood came and swept all of them away. That's how it will be when the Son of Man comes. 39and they were unaware until the flood came and swept them all away, so will be the coming of the Son of Man.
At that time, two people will be in the field. One will be taken, and one will be left behind. 40Then two men will be in the field; one will be taken and one left.
Two women will be grinding grain at the mill. One will be taken, and one will be left behind.41Two women will be grinding at the mill; one will be taken and one left.
"So keep on watching, because you don't know on what day your Lord is coming. 42Therefore, stay awake, for you do not know on what day your Lord is coming.
But be sure of this: if the owner of the house had known when during the night the thief would be coming, he would have stayed awake and not allowed his house to be broken into. 43But know this, that if the master of the house had known in what part of the night the thief was coming, he would have stayed awake and would not have let his house be broken into.
So you, too, must be ready, because the Son of Man will come at an hour you are not expecting him."44Therefore you also must be ready, for the Son of Man is coming at an hour you do not expect.
"Who, then, is the faithful and wise servant whom his master has put in charge of his household to give the others their food at the right time? 45“Who then is the faithful and wise servant, whom his master has set over his household, to give them their food at the proper time?
How blessed is that servant whom his master finds doing this when he comes! 46Blessed is that servant whom his master will find so doing when he comes.
I tell all of you with certainty, he will put him in charge of all his property.47Truly, I say to you, he will set him over all his possessions.
"But if that wicked servant says to himself, 'My master has been delayed,' 48But if that wicked servant says to himself, ‘My master is delayed,’
and begins to beat his fellow servants and eat and drink with the drunks, 49and begins to beat his fellow servants and eats and drinks with drunkards,
that servant's master will come on a day when he doesn't expect him and at an hour that he doesn't know. 50the master of that servant will come on a day when he does not expect him and at an hour he does not know
Then his master will punish him severely and assign him a place with the hypocrites. In that place there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth." 51and will cut him in pieces and put him with the hypocrites. In that place there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.
