| 8But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed. | 8But even if we, or an angel from heaven, should preach to you a gospel contrary to what we have preached to you, he is to be accursed! |
| 9As we said before, so say I now again, If any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed. | 9As we have said before, so I say again now, if any man is preaching to you a gospel contrary to what you received, he is to be accursed! |
| 10For do I now persuade men, or God? or do I seek to please men? for if I yet pleased men, I should not be the servant of Christ. | 10For am I now seeking the favor of men, or of God? Or am I striving to please men? If I were still trying to please men, I would not be a bond-servant of Christ. |
| 11But I certify you, brethren, that the gospel which was preached of me is not after man. | 11For I would have you know, brethren, that the gospel which was preached by me is not according to man. |
| 12For I neither received it of man, neither was I taught it, but by the revelation of Jesus Christ. | 12For I neither received it from man, nor was I taught it, but I received it through a revelation of Jesus Christ. |
| 13For ye have heard of my conversation in time past in the Jews' religion, how that beyond measure I persecuted the church of God, and wasted it: | 13For you have heard of my former manner of life in Judaism, how I used to persecute the church of God beyond measure and tried to destroy it; |
| 14And profited in the Jews' religion above many my equals in mine own nation, being more exceedingly zealous of the traditions of my fathers. | 14and I was advancing in Judaism beyond many of my contemporaries among my countrymen, being more extremely zealous for my ancestral traditions. |
| 15But when it pleased God, who separated me from my mother's womb, and called me by his grace, | 15But when God, who had set me apart even from my mother's womb and called me through His grace, was pleased |
| 16To reveal his Son in me, that I might preach him among the heathen; immediately I conferred not with flesh and blood: | 16to reveal His Son in me so that I might preach Him among the Gentiles, I did not immediately consult with flesh and blood, |
| 17Neither went I up to Jerusalem to them which were apostles before me; but I went into Arabia, and returned again unto Damascus. | 17nor did I go up to Jerusalem to those who were apostles before me; but I went away to Arabia, and returned once more to Damascus. |
| 18Then after three years I went up to Jerusalem to see Peter, and abode with him fifteen days. | 18Then three years later I went up to Jerusalem to become acquainted with Cephas, and stayed with him fifteen days. |
