Paul, an apostle, (not of men, neither by man, but by Jesus Christ, and God the Father, who raised him from the dead;)1From Paul, an apostle (not from men, nor by human agency, but by Jesus Christ and God the Father who raised him from the dead)
And all the brethren which are with me, unto the churches of Galatia:2and all the brothers with me, to the churches of Galatia.
Grace be to you and peace from God the Father, and from our Lord Jesus Christ,3Grace and peace to you from God the Father and our Lord Jesus Christ,
Who gave himself for our sins, that he might deliver us from this present evil world, according to the will of God and our Father:4who gave himself for our sins to rescue us from this present evil age according to the will of our God and Father,
To whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen.5to whom be glory forever and ever! Amen.
I marvel that ye are so soon removed from him that called you into the grace of Christ unto another gospel:6I am astonished that you are so quickly deserting the one who called you by the grace of Christ and are following a different gospel--
Which is not another; but there be some that trouble you, and would pervert the gospel of Christ.7not that there really is another gospel, but there are some who are disturbing you and wanting to distort the gospel of Christ.
But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed.8But even if we (or an angel from heaven) should preach a gospel contrary to the one we preached to you, let him be condemned to hell!
As we said before, so say I now again, If any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed.9As we have said before, and now I say again, if any one is preaching to you a gospel contrary to what you received, let him be condemned to hell!
For do I now persuade men, or God? or do I seek to please men? for if I yet pleased men, I should not be the servant of Christ.10Am I now trying to gain the approval of people, or of God? Or am I trying to please people? If I were still trying to please people, I would not be a slave of Christ!
But I certify you, brethren, that the gospel which was preached of me is not after man.11Now I want you to know, brothers and sisters, that the gospel I preached is not of human origin.
For I neither received it of man, neither was I taught it, but by the revelation of Jesus Christ.12For I did not receive it or learn it from any human source; instead I received it by a revelation of Jesus Christ.
For ye have heard of my conversation in time past in the Jews' religion, how that beyond measure I persecuted the church of God, and wasted it:13For you have heard of my former way of life in Judaism, how I was savagely persecuting the church of God and trying to destroy it.
And profited in the Jews' religion above many my equals in mine own nation, being more exceedingly zealous of the traditions of my fathers.14I was advancing in Judaism beyond many of my contemporaries in my nation, and was extremely zealous for the traditions of my ancestors.
But when it pleased God, who separated me from my mother's womb, and called me by his grace,15But when the one who set me apart from birth and called me by his grace was pleased
To reveal his Son in me, that I might preach him among the heathen; immediately I conferred not with flesh and blood:16to reveal his Son in me so that I could preach him among the Gentiles, I did not go to ask advice from any human being,
Neither went I up to Jerusalem to them which were apostles before me; but I went into Arabia, and returned again unto Damascus.17nor did I go up to Jerusalem to see those who were apostles before me, but right away I departed to Arabia, and then returned to Damascus.
Then after three years I went up to Jerusalem to see Peter, and abode with him fifteen days.18Then after three years I went up to Jerusalem to visit Cephas and get information from him, and I stayed with him fifteen days.
But other of the apostles saw I none, save James the Lord's brother.19But I saw none of the other apostles except James the Lord's brother.
Now the things which I write unto you, behold, before God, I lie not.20I assure you that, before God, I am not lying about what I am writing to you!
Afterwards I came into the regions of Syria and Cilicia;21Afterward I went to the regions of Syria and Cilicia.
And was unknown by face unto the churches of Judaea which were in Christ:22But I was personally unknown to the churches of Judea that are in Christ.
But they had heard only, That he which persecuted us in times past now preacheth the faith which once he destroyed.23They were only hearing, "The one who once persecuted us is now proclaiming the good news of the faith he once tried to destroy."
And they glorified God in me.24So they glorified God because of me.
