New King James VersionBerean Study Bible
If then you were raised with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ is, sitting at the right hand of God.1Therefore, since you have been raised with Christ, strive for the things above, where Christ is seated at the right hand of God.
Set your mind on things above, not on things on the earth.2Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things.
For you died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God.3For you died, and your life is now hidden with Christ in God.
When Christ who is our life appears, then you also will appear with Him in glory.4When Christ, who is your life, appears, then you also will appear with Him in glory.
Therefore put to death your members which are on the earth: fornication, uncleanness, passion, evil desire, and covetousness, which is idolatry.5Put to death, therefore, the components of your earthly nature: sexual immorality, impurity, lust, evil desires, and greed, which is idolatry.
Because of these things the wrath of God is coming upon the sons of disobedience,6Because of these, the wrath of God is coming on the sons of disobedience.
in which you yourselves once walked when you lived in them.7When you lived among them, you also used to walk in these ways.
But now you yourselves are to put off all these: anger, wrath, malice, blasphemy, filthy language out of your mouth.8But now you must put aside all such things as these: anger, rage, malice, slander, and filthy language from your lips.
Do not lie to one another, since you have put off the old man with his deeds,9Do not lie to one another, since you have taken off the old self with its practices,
and have put on the new man who is renewed in knowledge according to the image of Him who created him,10and have put on the new self, which is being renewed in knowledge in the image of its Creator.
where there is neither Greek nor Jew, circumcised nor uncircumcised, barbarian, Scythian, slave nor free, but Christ is all and in all.11Here there is no Greek or Jew, circumcised or uncircumcised, barbarian, Scythian, slave, or free, but Christ is all and is in all.
Therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, put on tender mercies, kindness, humility, meekness, longsuffering;12Therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, clothe yourselves with hearts of compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience.
bearing with one another, and forgiving one another, if anyone has a complaint against another; even as Christ forgave you, so you also must do.13Bear with one another and forgive any complaint you may have against someone else. Forgive as the Lord forgave you.
But above all these things put on love, which is the bond of perfection.14And over all these virtues put on love, which is the bond of perfect unity.
And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to which also you were called in one body; and be thankful.15Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, for to this you were called as members of one body. And be thankful.
Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom, teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.16Let the word of Christ richly dwell within you as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom, and as you sing psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs with gratitude in your hearts to God.
And whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him.17And whatever you do, in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him.
Wives, submit to your own husbands, as is fitting in the Lord.18Wives, submit to your husbands, as is fitting in the Lord.
Husbands, love your wives and do not be bitter toward them.19Husbands, love your wives and do not be harsh with them.
Children, obey your parents in all things, for this is well pleasing to the Lord.20Children, obey your parents in everything, for this is pleasing to the Lord.
Fathers, do not provoke your children, lest they become discouraged.21Fathers, do not provoke your children, so they will not become discouraged.
Bondservants, obey in all things your masters according to the flesh, not with eyeservice, as men-pleasers, but in sincerity of heart, fearing God.22Slaves, obey your earthly masters in everything, not only to please them while they are watching, but with sincerity of heart and fear of the Lord.
And whatever you do, do it heartily, as to the Lord and not to men,23Whatever you do, work at it with your whole being, for the Lord and not for men,
knowing that from the Lord you will receive the reward of the inheritance; for you serve the Lord Christ.24because you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as your reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving.
But he who does wrong will be repaid for what he has done, and there is no partiality.25Whoever does wrong will be repaid for his wrong, and there is no favoritism.
