Colossians 3
NKJV Parallel ESV [BSB CSB ESV HCS KJV ISV NAS NET NIV NLT GRK]
New King James VersionEnglish Standard Version
If then you were raised with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ is, sitting at the right hand of God.1If then you have been raised with Christ, seek the things that are above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God.
Set your mind on things above, not on things on the earth.2Set your minds on things that are above, not on things that are on earth.
For you died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God.3For you have died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God.
When Christ who is our life appears, then you also will appear with Him in glory.4When Christ who is your life appears, then you also will appear with him in glory.
Therefore put to death your members which are on the earth: fornication, uncleanness, passion, evil desire, and covetousness, which is idolatry.5Put to death therefore what is earthly in you: sexual immorality, impurity, passion, evil desire, and covetousness, which is idolatry.
Because of these things the wrath of God is coming upon the sons of disobedience,6On account of these the wrath of God is coming.
in which you yourselves once walked when you lived in them.7In these you too once walked, when you were living in them.
But now you yourselves are to put off all these: anger, wrath, malice, blasphemy, filthy language out of your mouth.8But now you must put them all away: anger, wrath, malice, slander, and obscene talk from your mouth.
Do not lie to one another, since you have put off the old man with his deeds,9Do not lie to one another, seeing that you have put off the old self with its practices
and have put on the new man who is renewed in knowledge according to the image of Him who created him,10and have put on the new self, which is being renewed in knowledge after the image of its creator.
where there is neither Greek nor Jew, circumcised nor uncircumcised, barbarian, Scythian, slave nor free, but Christ is all and in all.11Here there is not Greek and Jew, circumcised and uncircumcised, barbarian, Scythian, slave, free; but Christ is all, and in all.
Therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, put on tender mercies, kindness, humility, meekness, longsuffering;12Put on then, as God’s chosen ones, holy and beloved, compassionate hearts, kindness, humility, meekness, and patience,
bearing with one another, and forgiving one another, if anyone has a complaint against another; even as Christ forgave you, so you also must do.13bearing with one another and, if one has a complaint against another, forgiving each other; as the Lord has forgiven you, so you also must forgive.
But above all these things put on love, which is the bond of perfection.14And above all these put on love, which binds everything together in perfect harmony.
And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to which also you were called in one body; and be thankful.15And let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, to which indeed you were called in one body. And be thankful.
Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom, teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.16Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly, teaching and admonishing one another in all wisdom, singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, with thankfulness in your hearts to God.
And whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him.17And whatever you do, in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.
Wives, submit to your own husbands, as is fitting in the Lord.18Wives, submit to your husbands, as is fitting in the Lord.
Husbands, love your wives and do not be bitter toward them.19Husbands, love your wives, and do not be harsh with them.
Children, obey your parents in all things, for this is well pleasing to the Lord.20Children, obey your parents in everything, for this pleases the Lord.
Fathers, do not provoke your children, lest they become discouraged.21Fathers, do not provoke your children, lest they become discouraged.
Bondservants, obey in all things your masters according to the flesh, not with eyeservice, as men-pleasers, but in sincerity of heart, fearing God.22Bondservants, obey in everything those who are your earthly masters, not by way of eye-service, as people-pleasers, but with sincerity of heart, fearing the Lord.
And whatever you do, do it heartily, as to the Lord and not to men,23Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men,
knowing that from the Lord you will receive the reward of the inheritance; for you serve the Lord Christ.24knowing that from the Lord you will receive the inheritance as your reward. You are serving the Lord Christ.
But he who does wrong will be repaid for what he has done, and there is no partiality.25For the wrongdoer will be paid back for the wrong he has done, and there is no partiality.
