| 1Therefore, holy brethren, partakers of the heavenly calling, consider the Apostle and High Priest of our confession, Christ Jesus, | 1Therefore, holy brothers and companions in a heavenly calling, consider Jesus, the apostle and high priest of our confession; |
| 2who was faithful to Him who appointed Him, as Moses also was faithful in all His house. | 2He was faithful to the One who appointed Him, just as Moses was in all God's household. |
| 3For this One has been counted worthy of more glory than Moses, inasmuch as He who built the house has more honor than the house. | 3For Jesus is considered worthy of more glory than Moses, just as the builder has more honor than the house. |

| 17Now with whom was He angry forty years? Was it not with those who sinned, whose corpses fell in the wilderness? | 17And who was He provoked with for 40 years? Was it not with those who sinned, whose bodies fell in the wilderness? |
| 18And to whom did He swear that they would not enter His rest, but to those who did not obey? | 18And who did He swear to that they would not enter His rest, if not those who disobeyed? |
| 19So we see that they could not enter in because of unbelief. | 19So we see that they were unable to enter because of unbelief. |
