| 10Yet I certainly did not mean with the sexually immoral people of this world, or with the covetous, or extortioners, or idolaters, since then you would need to go out of the world. | 10not at all meaning the people of this world who are immoral, greedy, robbers, or idolaters. In that case you would have to leave this world. |
| 11But now I have written to you not to keep company with anyone named a brother, who is sexually immoral, or covetous, or an idolater, or a reviler, or a drunkard, or an extortioner—not even to eat with such a person. | 11But now I am writing to you to stop associating with any so-called brother if he is sexually immoral, greedy, an idolater, a slanderer, a drunk, or a robber. You must even stop eating with someone like that. |
| 12For what have I to do with judging those also who are outside? Do you not judge those who are inside? | 12After all, is it my business to judge outsiders? You are to judge those who are in the community, aren't you? |
| 13But those who are outside God judges. Therefore “put away from yourselves the evil person.” | 13God will judge outsiders. "Expel that wicked man." |
