Psalm 65
New Living TranslationBerean Study Bible
What mighty praise, O God, belongs to you in Zion. We will fulfill our vows to you,1For the choirmaster. A Psalm of David. A song. Praise awaits You, O God, in Zion; to You our vows will be fulfilled.
for you answer our prayers. All of us must come to you.2O You who listen to prayer, all people will come to You.
Though we are overwhelmed by our sins, you forgive them all.3When iniquities prevail against me, You atone for our transgressions.
What joy for those you choose to bring near, those who live in your holy courts. What festivities await us inside your holy Temple.4Blessed is the one You choose and bring near to dwell in Your courts! We are filled with the goodness of Your house, the holiness of Your temple.
You faithfully answer our prayers with awesome deeds, O God our savior. You are the hope of everyone on earth, even those who sail on distant seas.5With awesome deeds of righteousness You answer us, O God of our salvation, the hope of all the ends of the earth and of the farthest seas.
You formed the mountains by your power and armed yourself with mighty strength.6You formed the mountains by Your power, having girded Yourself with might.
You quieted the raging oceans with their pounding waves and silenced the shouting of the nations.7You stilled the roaring of the seas, the pounding of their waves, and the tumult of the nations.
Those who live at the ends of the earth stand in awe of your wonders. From where the sun rises to where it sets, you inspire shouts of joy.8Those who live far away fear Your wonders; You make the dawn and sunset shout for joy.
You take care of the earth and water it, making it rich and fertile. The river of God has plenty of water; it provides a bountiful harvest of grain, for you have ordered it so.9You attend to the earth and water it; with abundance You enrich it. The streams of God are full of water, for You prepare our grain by providing for the earth.
You drench the plowed ground with rain, melting the clods and leveling the ridges. You soften the earth with showers and bless its abundant crops.10You soak its furrows and level its ridges; You soften it with showers and bless its growth.
You crown the year with a bountiful harvest; even the hard pathways overflow with abundance.11You crown the year with Your bounty, and Your paths overflow with plenty.
The grasslands of the wilderness become a lush pasture, and the hillsides blossom with joy.12The pastures of the wilderness overflow; the hills are robed with joy.
The meadows are clothed with flocks of sheep, and the valleys are carpeted with grain. They all shout and sing for joy!13The pastures are clothed with flocks, and the valleys are decked with grain. They shout in triumph; indeed, they sing.
