How can your church reach globally?
How can your church implement the call to reach "the ends of the earth"?

The Mandate from Acts 1:8

“But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you, and you will be My witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.” (Acts 1:8)

Power and Partnership with the Holy Spirit

- Recognize that reaching the ends of the earth is impossible in human strength alone.

- Depend daily on the Spirit’s empowerment (cf. Zechariah 4:6; John 15:5).

- Incorporate regular times of congregational worship and fasting to seek fresh filling (Acts 13:2–3).

Building a Sending Culture

- Teach missions from the pulpit at least quarterly, highlighting global needs (Romans 10:14–15).

- Celebrate missionaries your church supports with testimony videos, updates, and commissioning services (Acts 14:26–27).

- Include children and youth in these celebrations so that a heart for the nations grows early (Psalm 78:4).

Equipping Every Believer

- Offer short, focused training modules:

- Basics of the gospel message (1 Corinthians 15:3–4)

- Cross-cultural sensitivity (1 Corinthians 9:22)

- Testimony writing and sharing (1 Peter 3:15)

- Launch small-group “GO Teams” that pray weekly for an unreached people group and practice evangelism locally.

Strategic Local Outreach with a Global Vision

- Identify immigrant communities nearby; adopt one for intentional friendship, ESL classes, and Scripture distribution (Leviticus 19:34).

- Partner with campus ministries to reach international students—future leaders returning to closed nations.

- Use digital tools (social media, apps, livestreams) to broadcast services and Bible studies worldwide (Psalm 96:3).

Short-Term Trips that Serve Long-Term Goals

- Align trips with established field partners; avoid “tourist missions.”

- Send multidisciplinary teams—medical, construction, children’s ministry—tailored to host-church requests (Philippians 2:3–4).

- Debrief thoroughly on return, channeling passion into ongoing prayer and giving.

Sustained Financial Commitment

- Set aside a fixed percentage of the church budget for global missions, above and beyond benevolence (2 Corinthians 9:7).

- Encourage families to adopt a missionary for monthly support and regular communication.

- Host an annual Faith Promise Sunday to pledge new giving for unreached peoples.

Prayer as the Launchpad

- Establish a weekly prayer gathering focused solely on unreached peoples (Colossians 4:2–4).

- Distribute a monthly prayer guide highlighting one nation per day.

- Integrate mission updates into Sunday intercessory segments so the whole body carries the burden together.

Measuring Faithfulness, Not Just Numbers

- Track stories of obedience—who is sharing, who is going, who is giving.

- Regularly revisit Acts 1:8 and evaluate:

- “Jerusalem” – our city

- “Judea” – our region

- “Samaria” – cross-cultural within reach

- “Ends of the earth” – least-reached nations

- Celebrate each step of progress, giving glory to God alone (Psalm 115:1).

Finishing Well

Reaching the ends of the earth is Christ’s promise and our privilege. By leaning on the Spirit, equipping saints, investing in strategic partnerships, and praying without ceasing, any local church—no matter its size—can play a vital role in fulfilling the Great Commission until the Lord returns (Matthew 24:14).
