The Apostle Paul emphasizes the importance of edification in 1 Corinthians 14:26 : "What then shall we say, brothers? When you come together, each of you has a hymn, a word of instruction, a revelation, a tongue, or an interpretation. Everything must be done so that the church may be built up."

Biblical Basis
The Bible provides numerous exhortations for believers to pursue personal edification. In 2 Peter 3:18 , Peter encourages believers to "grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ."
