God’s Faithful Messiah
(Genesis 14:17–24; Hebrews 5:1–10)

לְדָוִ֗ד (Of David) מִ֫זְמ֥וֹר (a Psalm).

1נְאֻ֤ם (A declaration) יְהוָ֨ה׀ (of YHWH) לַֽאדֹנִ֗י (to my Lord),

שֵׁ֥ב (Sit) לִֽימִינִ֑י (at My right hand),

עַד־ (until) אָשִׁ֥ית (I make) אֹ֝יְבֶ֗יךָ (your enemies)

הֲדֹ֣ם (a footstool) לְרַגְלֶֽיךָ׃ (for Your feet).

2  מַטֵּֽה־ (The rod) עֻזְּךָ֗ (of your strength) יִשְׁלַ֣ח (sends forth) יְ֭הוָה (YHWH) מִצִּיּ֑וֹן (from Zion):

רְ֝דֵ֗ה (Rule) בְּקֶ֣רֶב (in the midst) אֹיְבֶֽיךָ׃ (of Your enemies).

3  עַמְּךָ֣ (Your people) נְדָבֹת֮ (are freewill offerings)

בְּי֪וֹם (in the day) חֵ֫ילֶ֥ךָ (of your might),

בְּֽהַדְרֵי־ (in the splendors) קֹ֭דֶשׁ (of holiness)

מֵרֶ֣חֶם (from the womb) מִשְׁחָ֑ר (of the morning),

לְ֝ךָ֗ (is unto you) טַ֣ל (the dew) יַלְדֻתֶֽיךָ׃ (of your youth).

4  נִשְׁבַּ֤ע (Has sworn) יְהוָ֨ה׀ (YHWH),

וְלֹ֥א (and not) יִנָּחֵ֗ם (will He change His mind):

אַתָּֽה־ (You are) כֹהֵ֥ן (a priest) לְעוֹלָ֑ם (forever),

עַל־ (according to) דִּ֝בְרָתִ֗י (the order) מַלְכִּי־ (of Melchi-) צֶֽדֶק׃ (zedek).

5  אֲדֹנָ֥י (My Lord) עַל־ (is at) יְמִֽינְךָ֑ (Your right hand);

מָחַ֖ץ (he will shatter) בְּיוֹם־ (in the day) אַפּ֣וֹ (of his anger) מְלָכִֽים׃ (kings).

6  יָדִ֣ין (He will judge) בַּ֭גּוֹיִם (among the nations), מָלֵ֣א (he will fill it) גְוִיּ֑וֹת (with corpses);

מָ֥חַץ (he will wound) רֹ֝֗אשׁ (the head) עַל־ (of) אֶ֥רֶץ (lands) רַבָּֽה׃ (many).

7  מִ֭נַּחַל (From the brook) בַּדֶּ֣רֶךְ (by the way) יִשְׁתֶּ֑ה (He will drink);

עַל־ (By) כֵּ֝֗ן (this) יָרִ֥ים (He will lift up) רֹֽאשׁ׃ (the head).
