Do Not Harden Your Hearts
(Hebrews 3:7–11)

לְ֭כוּ (O come), נְרַנְּנָ֣ה (let us sing out) לַיהוָ֑ה (to YHWH);

נָ֝רִ֗יעָה (let us shout) לְצ֣וּר (to the Rock) יִשְׁעֵֽנוּ׃ (of our salvation).

2  נְקַדְּמָ֣ה (Let us come before) פָנָ֣יו (His face) בְּתוֹדָ֑ה (with thanksgiving),

בִּ֝זְמִר֗וֹת (with psalms) נָרִ֥יעַֽ (let us shout joyfully) לֽוֹ׃ (to Him).

3  כִּ֤י (For) אֵ֣ל (the God) גָּד֣וֹל (great) יְהוָ֑ה (is YHWH),

וּמֶ֥לֶךְ (and the King) גָּ֝ד֗וֹל (great) עַל־ (above) כָּל־ (all) אֱלֹהִֽים׃ (gods),

4  אֲשֶׁ֣ר (who) בְּ֭יָדוֹ (in His hand are) מֶחְקְרֵי־ (the depths) אָ֑רֶץ (of the earth),

וְתוֹעֲפ֖וֹת (and the peaks) הָרִ֣ים (of the mountains) לֽוֹ׃ (are unto Him),

5  אֲשֶׁר־ (and who) ל֣וֹ (to Him) הַ֭יָּם (is the sea), וְה֣וּא (and for He) עָשָׂ֑הוּ (made it)

וְ֝יַבֶּ֗שֶׁת (and the dry land) יָדָ֥יו (His hands) יָצָֽרוּ׃ (formed).

6  בֹּ֭אוּ (O come), נִשְׁתַּחֲוֶ֣ה (let us worship) וְנִכְרָ֑עָה (and bow down);

נִ֝בְרְכָ֗ה (let us kneel) לִֽפְנֵי־ (before the face) יְהוָ֥ה (of YHWH) עֹשֵֽׂנוּ׃ (our Maker).

7  כִּ֘י (For) ה֤וּא (He is) אֱלֹהֵ֗ינוּ (our God),

וַאֲנַ֤חְנוּ (and we are) עַ֣ם (the people) מַ֭רְעִיתוֹ (of His pasture),

וְצֹ֣אן (and the sheep) יָד֑וֹ (of His hand).

הַ֝יּ֗וֹם (Today) אִֽם־ (if) בְּקֹל֥וֹ (His voice) תִשְׁמָֽעוּ׃ (you⁺ hear),

8  אַל־ (not) תַּקְשׁ֣וּ (shall you⁺ harden) לְ֭בַבְכֶם (your⁺ hearts),

כִּמְרִיבָ֑ה (as at Meribah),

כְּי֥וֹם (as in the day) מַ֝סָּ֗ה (at Massah) בַּמִּדְבָּֽר׃ (in the wilderness),

9  אֲשֶׁ֣ר (when) נִ֭סּוּנִי (tested Me) אֲבוֹתֵיכֶ֑ם (your⁺ fathers); בְּ֝חָנ֗וּנִי (they tried Me)

גַּם־ (even though) רָא֥וּ (they had seen) פָעֳלִֽי׃ (My work).

10  אַרְבָּ֘עִ֤ים (Forty) שָׁנָ֨ה׀ (years) אָ֘ק֤וּט (I was repulsed) בְּד֗וֹר (by that generation),

וָאֹמַ֗ר (and I said), עַ֤ם (A people) תֹּעֵ֣י (going astray) לֵבָ֣ב (in heart) הֵ֑ם (they are),

וְ֝הֵ֗ם (and they) לֹא־ (not) יָדְע֥וּ (have know) דְרָכָֽי׃ (My ways).

11  אֲשֶׁר־ (So) נִשְׁבַּ֥עְתִּי (I swore) בְאַפִּ֑י (in My anger),

אִם־ (Not) יְ֝בֹא֗וּן (they shall come) אֶל־ (into) מְנוּחָתִֽי׃ (My rest).
