Good News Translation
For we have heard the Good News, just as they did. They heard the message, but it did them no good, because when they heard it, they did not accept it with faith.

ContextThe Sabbath Rest
1Let us fear therefore lest, the promise being left of entering into his rest, any of you should be thought to be wanting. 2For unto us also it hath been declared in like manner as unto them. But the word of hearing did not profit them, not being mixed with faith of those things they heard. 3For we, who have believed, shall enter into rest; as he said: As I have sworn in my wrath: If they shall enter into my rest; and this indeed when the works from the foundation of the world were finished.…
And yet for all this you did not believe the Lord your God,
For what if some of them have not believed? Shall their unbelief make the faith of God without effect? God forbid!
Faith then cometh by hearing; and hearing by the word of Christ.
This only would I learn of you: Did you receive the Spirit by the works of the law or by the hearing of faith?
1 Thessalonians 2:13
Therefore, we also give thanks to God without ceasing: because, that when you had received of us the word of the hearing of God, you received it not as the word of men, but (as it is indeed) the word of God, who worketh in you that have believed.
And to whom did he swear, that they should not enter into his rest: but to them that were incredulous?
