NASB Parallel ISV [BSB CSB ESV HCS KJV ISV NAS NET NIV NLT GRK]
New American Standard Bible 1995International Standard Version
Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth; for the first heaven and the first earth passed away, and there is no longer any sea.1Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth, because the first heaven and the first earth had disappeared, and the sea was gone.
And I saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, made ready as a bride adorned for her husband.2I also saw the holy city, New Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared like a bride adorned for her husband.
And I heard a loud voice from the throne, saying, "Behold, the tabernacle of God is among men, and He will dwell among them, and they shall be His people, and God Himself will be among them,3I heard a loud voice from the throne say, "See, the tent of God is among humans! He will make his home with them, and they will be his people. God himself will be with them, and he will be their God.
and He will wipe away every tear from their eyes; and there will no longer be any death; there will no longer be any mourning, or crying, or pain; the first things have passed away."4He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There won't be death anymore. There won't be any grief, crying, or pain, because the first things have disappeared."
And He who sits on the throne said, "Behold, I am making all things new." And He said, "Write, for these words are faithful and true."5The one sitting on the throne said, "See, I am making all things new!" He said, "Write this: 'These words are trustworthy and true.'"
Then He said to me, "It is done. I am the Alpha and the Omega, the beginning and the end. I will give to the one who thirsts from the spring of the water of life without cost.6Then he told me, "It has happened! I am the Alpha and the Omega, the beginning and the end. I will freely give a drink from the spring of the water of life to the one who is thirsty.
"He who overcomes will inherit these things, and I will be his God and he will be My son.7The person who conquers will inherit these things. I will be his God, and he will be my son.
"But for the cowardly and unbelieving and abominable and murderers and immoral persons and sorcerers and idolaters and all liars, their part will be in the lake that burns with fire and brimstone, which is the second death."8But people who are cowardly, unfaithful, detestable, murderers, sexually immoral, sorcerers, idolaters, and all liars will find themselves in the lake that burns with fire and sulfur. This is the second death."
Then one of the seven angels who had the seven bowls full of the seven last plagues came and spoke with me, saying, "Come here, I will show you the bride, the wife of the Lamb."9Then one of the seven angels who had the seven bowls full of the seven last plagues came to me and said, "Come! I will show you the bride, the wife of the lamb."
And he carried me away in the Spirit to a great and high mountain, and showed me the holy city, Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God,10He carried me away in the Spirit to a large, high mountain and showed me the holy city, Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven.
having the glory of God. Her brilliance was like a very costly stone, as a stone of crystal-clear jasper.11The glory of God was its radiance, and its light was like a valuable gem, like jasper, as clear as crystal.
It had a great and high wall, with twelve gates, and at the gates twelve angels; and names were written on them, which are the names of the twelve tribes of the sons of Israel.12It had a large, high wall with twelve gates. Twelve angels were at the gates, and the names of the twelve tribes of Israel were written on the gates.
There were three gates on the east and three gates on the north and three gates on the south and three gates on the west.13There were three gates on the east, three gates on the north, three gates on the south, and three gates on the west.
And the wall of the city had twelve foundation stones, and on them were the twelve names of the twelve apostles of the Lamb.14The wall of the city had twelve foundations, and the twelve names of the twelve apostles of the lamb were written on them.
The one who spoke with me had a gold measuring rod to measure the city, and its gates and its wall.15The angel who was talking to me had a gold measuring rod to measure the city, its gates, and its walls.
The city is laid out as a square, and its length is as great as the width; and he measured the city with the rod, fifteen hundred miles; its length and width and height are equal.16The city was cubic in shape: its length was the same as its width. He measured the city with his rod, and it measured at 12,000 stadia: Its length, width, and height were the same.
And he measured its wall, seventy-two yards, according to human measurements, which are also angelic measurements.17He also measured its wall. According to the human measurement that the angel was using, it was 144 cubits.
The material of the wall was jasper; and the city was pure gold, like clear glass.18Its wall was made of jasper. The city was made of pure gold, as clear as glass.
The foundation stones of the city wall were adorned with every kind of precious stone. The first foundation stone was jasper; the second, sapphire; the third, chalcedony; the fourth, emerald;19The foundations of the city wall were decorated with all kinds of gems: The first foundation was jasper, the second sapphire, the third agate, the fourth emerald,
the fifth, sardonyx; the sixth, sardius; the seventh, chrysolite; the eighth, beryl; the ninth, topaz; the tenth, chrysoprase; the eleventh, jacinth; the twelfth, amethyst.20the fifth onyx, the sixth carnelian, the seventh chrysolite, the eighth beryl, the ninth topaz, the tenth chrysoprase, the eleventh jacinth and the twelfth amethyst.
And the twelve gates were twelve pearls; each one of the gates was a single pearl. And the street of the city was pure gold, like transparent glass.21The twelve gates were twelve pearls, and each gate was made of a single pearl. The street of the city was made of pure gold, as clear as glass.
I saw no temple in it, for the Lord God the Almighty and the Lamb are its temple.22I saw no temple in it, because the Lord God Almighty and the lamb are its temple.
And the city has no need of the sun or of the moon to shine on it, for the glory of God has illumined it, and its lamp is the Lamb.23The city doesn't need any sun or moon to give it light, because the glory of God gave it light, and the lamb was its lamp.
The nations will walk by its light, and the kings of the earth will bring their glory into it.24The nations will walk in its light, and the kings of the earth will bring their glory into it.
In the daytime (for there will be no night there) its gates will never be closed;25Its gates will never be shut at the end of the day—because there will be no night there.
and they will bring the glory and the honor of the nations into it;26People will bring the glory and wealth of the nations into it.
and nothing unclean, and no one who practices abomination and lying, shall ever come into it, but only those whose names are written in the Lamb's book of life.27Nothing unclean, or anyone who does anything detestable, and no one who tells lies will ever enter it. Only those whose names are written in the lamb's Book of Life will enter it.
