Now receive the one who is weak in the faith, and do not have disputes over differing opinions.1Accept him whose faith is weak, without passing judgment on his opinions.
One person believes in eating everything, but the weak person eats only vegetables.2For one person has faith to eat all things, while another, who is weak, eats only vegetables.
The one who eats everything must not despise the one who does not, and the one who abstains must not judge the one who eats everything, for God has accepted him.3The one who eats everything must not belittle the one who does not, and the one who does not eat everything must not judge the one who does, for God has accepted him.
Who are you to pass judgment on another's servant? Before his own master he stands or falls. And he will stand, for the Lord is able to make him stand. 4Who are you to judge someone else’s servant? To his own master he stands or falls. And he will stand, for the Lord is able to make him stand.
One person regards one day holier than other days, and another regards them all alike. Each must be fully convinced in his own mind.5One person regards a certain day above the others, while someone else considers every day alike. Each one should be fully convinced in his own mind.
The one who observes the day does it for the Lord. The one who eats, eats for the Lord because he gives thanks to God, and the one who abstains from eating abstains for the Lord, and he gives thanks to God.6He who observes a special day does so to the Lord; he who eats does so to the Lord, for he gives thanks to God; and he who abstains does so to the Lord and gives thanks to God.
For none of us lives for himself and none dies for himself.7For none of us lives to himself alone, and none of us dies to himself alone.
If we live, we live for the Lord; if we die, we die for the Lord. Therefore, whether we live or die, we are the Lord's.8If we live, we live to the Lord, and if we die, we die to the Lord. So whether we live or die, we belong to the Lord.
For this reason Christ died and returned to life, so that he may be the Lord of both the dead and the living. 9For this reason Christ died and returned to life, that He might be the Lord of both the dead and the living.
But you who eat vegetables only--why do you judge your brother or sister? And you who eat everything--why do you despise your brother or sister? For we will all stand before the judgment seat of God.10Why, then, do you judge your brother? Or why do you belittle your brother? For we will all stand before God’s judgment seat.
For it is written, "As I live, says the Lord, every knee will bow to me, and every tongue will give praise to God."11It is written: “As surely as I live, says the Lord, every knee will bow before Me; every tongue will confess to God.”
Therefore, each of us will give an account of himself to God. 12So then, each of us will give an account of himself to God.
Therefore we must not pass judgment on one another, but rather determine never to place an obstacle or a trap before a brother or sister.13Therefore let us stop judging one another. Instead, make up your mind not to put any stumbling block or obstacle in your brother’s way.
I know and am convinced in the Lord Jesus that there is nothing unclean in itself; still, it is unclean to the one who considers it unclean.14I am convinced and fully persuaded in the Lord Jesus that nothing is unclean in itself. But if anyone regards something as unclean, then for him it is unclean.
For if your brother or sister is distressed because of what you eat, you are no longer walking in love. Do not destroy by your food someone for whom Christ died.15If your brother is distressed by what you eat, you are no longer acting in love. Do not by your eating destroy your brother, for whom Christ died.
Therefore do not let what you consider good be spoken of as evil.16Do not allow what you consider good, then, to be spoken of as evil.
For the kingdom of God does not consist of food and drink, but righteousness, peace, and joy in the Holy Spirit.17For the kingdom of God is not a matter of eating and drinking, but of righteousness, peace, and joy in the Holy Spirit.
For the one who serves Christ in this way is pleasing to God and approved by people. 18For whoever serves Christ in this way is pleasing to God and approved by men.
So then, let us pursue what makes for peace and for building up one another.19So then, let us pursue what leads to peace and to mutual edification.
Do not destroy the work of God for the sake of food. For although all things are clean, it is wrong to cause anyone to stumble by what you eat.20Do not destroy the work of God for the sake of food. All food is clean, but it is wrong for a man to let his eating be a stumbling block.
It is good not to eat meat or drink wine or to do anything that causes your brother to stumble.21It is better not to eat meat or drink wine or to do anything to cause your brother to stumble.
The faith you have, keep to yourself before God. Blessed is the one who does not judge himself by what he approves.22Keep your belief about such matters between yourself and God. Blessed is the one who does not condemn himself by what he approves.
But the man who doubts is condemned if he eats, because he does not do so from faith, and whatever is not from faith is sin. 23But the one who has doubts is condemned if he eats, because his eating is not from faith; and everything that is not from faith is sin.
