| 1When Jesus had called the Twelve together, he gave them power and authority to drive out all demons and to cure diseases, | 1And He called the twelve together, and gave them power and authority over all the demons and to heal diseases. |

| 10When the apostles returned, they reported to Jesus what they had done. | 11but the crowds learned about it and followed him. | 12Late in the afternoon the Twelve came to him and said, "Send the crowd away so they can go to the surrounding villages and countryside and find food and lodging, because we are in a remote place here." | 12Now the day was ending, and the twelve came and said to Him, "Send the crowd away, that they may go into the surrounding villages and countryside and find lodging and get something to eat; for here we are in a desolate place." |
| 13He replied, "You give them something to eat." | 28About eight days after Jesus said this, he took Peter, John and James with him and went up onto a mountain to pray. | 28Some eight days after these sayings, He took along Peter and John and James, and went up on the mountain to pray. |
