NLT Parallel NIV [BSB CSB ESV HCS KJV ISV NAS NET NIV NLT HEB]
New Living TranslationNew International Version
I love you, LORD; you are my strength.1For the director of music. Of David the servant of the LORD. He sang to the LORD the words of this song when the LORD delivered him from the hand of all his enemies and from the hand of Saul. He said: I love you, LORD, my strength.
The LORD is my rock, my fortress, and my savior; my God is my rock, in whom I find protection. He is my shield, the power that saves me, and my place of safety.2The LORD is my rock, my fortress and my deliverer; my God is my rock, in whom I take refuge, my shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold.
I called on the LORD, who is worthy of praise, and he saved me from my enemies.3I called to the LORD, who is worthy of praise, and I have been saved from my enemies.
The ropes of death entangled me; floods of destruction swept over me.4The cords of death entangled me; the torrents of destruction overwhelmed me.
The grave wrapped its ropes around me; death laid a trap in my path.5The cords of the grave coiled around me; the snares of death confronted me.
But in my distress I cried out to the LORD; yes, I prayed to my God for help. He heard me from his sanctuary; my cry to him reached his ears.6In my distress I called to the LORD; I cried to my God for help. From his temple he heard my voice; my cry came before him, into his ears.
Then the earth quaked and trembled. The foundations of the mountains shook; they quaked because of his anger.7The earth trembled and quaked, and the foundations of the mountains shook; they trembled because he was angry.
Smoke poured from his nostrils; fierce flames leaped from his mouth. Glowing coals blazed forth from him.8Smoke rose from his nostrils; consuming fire came from his mouth, burning coals blazed out of it.
He opened the heavens and came down; dark storm clouds were beneath his feet.9He parted the heavens and came down; dark clouds were under his feet.
Mounted on a mighty angelic being, he flew, soaring on the wings of the wind.10He mounted the cherubim and flew; he soared on the wings of the wind.
He shrouded himself in darkness, veiling his approach with dark rain clouds.11He made darkness his covering, his canopy around him-- the dark rain clouds of the sky.
Thick clouds shielded the brightness around him and rained down hail and burning coals.12Out of the brightness of his presence clouds advanced, with hailstones and bolts of lightning.
The LORD thundered from heaven; the voice of the Most High resounded amid the hail and burning coals.13The LORD thundered from heaven; the voice of the Most High resounded.
He shot his arrows and scattered his enemies; great bolts of lightning flashed, and they were confused.14He shot his arrows and scattered the enemy, with great bolts of lightning he routed them.
Then at your command, O LORD, at the blast of your breath, the bottom of the sea could be seen, and the foundations of the earth were laid bare.15The valleys of the sea were exposed and the foundations of the earth laid bare at your rebuke, LORD, at the blast of breath from your nostrils.
He reached down from heaven and rescued me; he drew me out of deep waters.16He reached down from on high and took hold of me; he drew me out of deep waters.
He rescued me from my powerful enemies, from those who hated me and were too strong for me.17He rescued me from my powerful enemy, from my foes, who were too strong for me.
They attacked me at a moment when I was in distress, but the LORD supported me.18They confronted me in the day of my disaster, but the LORD was my support.
He led me to a place of safety; he rescued me because he delights in me.19He brought me out into a spacious place; he rescued me because he delighted in me.
The LORD rewarded me for doing right; he restored me because of my innocence.20The LORD has dealt with me according to my righteousness; according to the cleanness of my hands he has rewarded me.
For I have kept the ways of the LORD; I have not turned from my God to follow evil.21For I have kept the ways of the LORD; I am not guilty of turning from my God.
I have followed all his regulations; I have never abandoned his decrees.22All his laws are before me; I have not turned away from his decrees.
I am blameless before God; I have kept myself from sin.23I have been blameless before him and have kept myself from sin.
The LORD rewarded me for doing right. He has seen my innocence.24The LORD has rewarded me according to my righteousness, according to the cleanness of my hands in his sight.
To the faithful you show yourself faithful; to those with integrity you show integrity.25To the faithful you show yourself faithful, to the blameless you show yourself blameless,
To the pure you show yourself pure, but to the crooked you show yourself shrewd.26to the pure you show yourself pure, but to the devious you show yourself shrewd.
You rescue the humble, but you humiliate the proud.27You save the humble but bring low those whose eyes are haughty.
You light a lamp for me. The LORD, my God, lights up my darkness.28You, LORD, keep my lamp burning; my God turns my darkness into light.
In your strength I can crush an army; with my God I can scale any wall.29With your help I can advance against a troop; with my God I can scale a wall.
God’s way is perfect. All the LORD’s promises prove true. He is a shield for all who look to him for protection.30As for God, his way is perfect: The LORD's word is flawless; he shields all who take refuge in him.
For who is God except the LORD? Who but our God is a solid rock?31For who is God besides the LORD? And who is the Rock except our God?
God arms me with strength, and he makes my way perfect.32It is God who arms me with strength and keeps my way secure.
He makes me as surefooted as a deer, enabling me to stand on mountain heights.33He makes my feet like the feet of a deer; he causes me to stand on the heights.
He trains my hands for battle; he strengthens my arm to draw a bronze bow.34He trains my hands for battle; my arms can bend a bow of bronze.
You have given me your shield of victory. Your right hand supports me; your help has made me great.35You make your saving help my shield, and your right hand sustains me; your help has made me great.
You have made a wide path for my feet to keep them from slipping.36You provide a broad path for my feet, so that my ankles do not give way.
I chased my enemies and caught them; I did not stop until they were conquered.37I pursued my enemies and overtook them; I did not turn back till they were destroyed.
I struck them down so they could not get up; they fell beneath my feet.38I crushed them so that they could not rise; they fell beneath my feet.
You have armed me with strength for the battle; you have subdued my enemies under my feet.39You armed me with strength for battle; you humbled my adversaries before me.
You placed my foot on their necks. I have destroyed all who hated me.40You made my enemies turn their backs in flight, and I destroyed my foes.
They called for help, but no one came to their rescue. They even cried to the LORD, but he refused to answer.41They cried for help, but there was no one to save them-- to the LORD, but he did not answer.
I ground them as fine as dust in the wind. I swept them into the gutter like dirt.42I beat them as fine as windblown dust; I trampled them like mud in the streets.
You gave me victory over my accusers. You appointed me ruler over nations; people I don’t even know now serve me.43You have delivered me from the attacks of the people; you have made me the head of nations. People I did not know now serve me,
As soon as they hear of me, they submit; foreign nations cringe before me.44foreigners cower before me; as soon as they hear of me, they obey me.
They all lose their courage and come trembling from their strongholds.45They all lose heart; they come trembling from their strongholds.
The LORD lives! Praise to my Rock! May the God of my salvation be exalted!46The LORD lives! Praise be to my Rock! Exalted be God my Savior!
He is the God who pays back those who harm me; he subdues the nations under me47He is the God who avenges me, who subdues nations under me,
and rescues me from my enemies. You hold me safe beyond the reach of my enemies; you save me from violent opponents.48who saves me from my enemies. You exalted me above my foes; from a violent man you rescued me.
For this, O LORD, I will praise you among the nations; I will sing praises to your name.49Therefore I will praise you, LORD, among the nations; I will sing the praises of your name.
You give great victories to your king; you show unfailing love to your anointed, to David and all his descendants forever.50He gives his king great victories; he shows unfailing love to his anointed, to David and to his descendants forever.
