Parallel Chapters Entering the Ark
(Genesis 3:1-7; Romans 5:12-21; 2 Peter 3:1-9) 1The LORD then said to Noah, "Go into the ark, you and your whole family, because I have found you righteous in this generation. | 1Then the LORD said to Noah, “Go into the ark, you and all your household, for I have seen that you are righteous before me in this generation. | 1Then the LORD said to Noah, "Enter the ark, you and all your household, for you alone I have seen to be righteous before Me in this time. | 1And the LORD said unto Noah, Come thou and all thy house into the ark; for thee have I seen righteous before me in this generation. | 1Then the LORD said to Noah, "Enter the ark, you and all your household, for I have seen that you alone are righteous before Me in this generation. |
2Take with you seven pairs of every kind of clean animal, a male and its mate, and one pair of every kind of unclean animal, a male and its mate, | 2Take with you seven pairs of all clean animals, the male and his mate, and a pair of the animals that are not clean, the male and his mate, | 2"You shall take with you of every clean animal by sevens, a male and his female; and of the animals that are not clean two, a male and his female; | 2Of every clean beast thou shalt take to thee by sevens, the male and his female: and of beasts that are not clean by two, the male and his female. | 2You are to take with you seven pairs, a male and its female, of all the clean animals, and two of the animals that are not clean, a male and its female, |
3and also seven pairs of every kind of bird, male and female, to keep their various kinds alive throughout the earth. | 3and seven pairs of the birds of the heavens also, male and female, to keep their offspring alive on the face of all the earth. | 3also of the birds of the sky, by sevens, male and female, to keep offspring alive on the face of all the earth. | 3Of fowls also of the air by sevens, the male and the female; to keep seed alive upon the face of all the earth. | 3and seven pairs, male and female, of the birds of the sky--in order to keep offspring alive on the face of the whole earth. |

The Duration of the Flood 17For forty days the flood kept coming on the earth, and as the waters increased they lifted the ark high above the earth. | 17The flood continued forty days on the earth. The waters increased and bore up the ark, and it rose high above the earth. | 17Then the flood came upon the earth for forty days, and the water increased and lifted up the ark, so that it rose above the earth. | 17And the flood was forty days upon the earth; and the waters increased, and bare up the ark, and it was lift up above the earth. | 17The flood continued for 40 days on the earth; the waters increased and lifted up the ark so that it rose above the earth. |

23Every living thing on the face of the earth was wiped out; people and animals and the creatures that move along the ground and the birds were wiped from the earth. Only Noah was left, and those with him in the ark. | 23He blotted out every living thing that was on the face of the ground, man and animals and creeping things and birds of the heavens. They were blotted out from the earth. Only Noah was left, and those who were with him in the ark. | 23Thus He blotted out every living thing that was upon the face of the land, from man to animals to creeping things and to birds of the sky, and they were blotted out from the earth; and only Noah was left, together with those that were with him in the ark. | 23And every living substance was destroyed which was upon the face of the ground, both man, and cattle, and the creeping things, and the fowl of the heaven; and they were destroyed from the earth: and Noah only remained alive, and they that were with him in the ark. | 23He wiped out every living thing that was on the surface of the ground, from mankind to livestock, to creatures that crawl, to the birds of the sky, and they were wiped off the earth.
