Mibsam,

Mibsam’s (“sweet-smelling” or “fragrant”) inclusion affirms that no branch of Israel’s family history was beyond God’s notice. The Lord preserved the names of ordinary households as part of His continuing faithfulness to the promises given to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.

and Mishma.

Mishma (“hearing” or “obedience”) completes Shaul’s recorded family line. Though Simeon later became comparatively small among Israel’s tribes, God retained its place in the nation and its share in the land He had given His people.
