1 Chronicles 9:10
From the priests: Jedaiah, Jehoiarib, and Jachin;
From the priests:

Priestly families were among those established again in Jerusalem after the exile. Descended from Aaron, they offered the sacrifices commanded in the Law, guarded the holiness of the sanctuary, and instructed Israel in God’s statutes. Their return showed that the restoration of Jerusalem centered on renewed worship of the Lord.

Jedaiah,

Jedaiah (meaning “Yahweh knows” or “Yahweh has known”) represented one of the priestly houses appointed for temple service. His family was associated with the second priestly division established by David (1 Chronicles 24:7) and appears again among the priests living in Jerusalem in Nehemiah’s day (Nehemiah 11:10). The continuing service of Jedaiah’s descendants preserved the ordered worship God had ordained.

Jehoiarib,

Jehoiarib, meaning “Yahweh contends” or “Yahweh pleads,” was the head of the first of David’s twenty-four priestly divisions (1 Chronicles 24:7). These divisions ensured that sacrifices and other temple duties were carried out faithfully throughout the year. The return of Jehoiarib’s house connected post-exilic worship with the priestly order established under David.

Jachin, meaning “He will establish,” headed the twenty-first priestly division (1 Chronicles 24:17). His name was also borne by one of the pillars before Solomon’s temple (1 Kings 7:21), recalling the Lord’s establishment of His dwelling among His people. The presence of Jachin’s priestly house in Jerusalem testified that God was rebuilding His worshiping people on the foundations of His covenant.
