Behold, He is coming with the clouds,

Jesus will return openly in divine glory, fulfilling Daniel’s vision of the Son of Man coming with the clouds of heaven (Daniel 7:13). The One who ascended into heaven will return in the same visible manner (Acts 1:9–11), not in humility to bear sin, but in power to reign and judge.

Christ’s appearing will be universal and undeniable. No nation, ruler, or individual will be able to dismiss His return as rumor or deception. The Lord’s promised coming will fulfill His own words that all the tribes of the earth will see the Son of Man coming in glory (Matthew 24:30).

The return of Jesus will confront Israel with the crucified Messiah whom many rejected. Zechariah foretold a future mourning in Jerusalem when the people look upon the One they pierced (Zechariah 12:10). Roman soldiers carried out the crucifixion, Jewish leaders delivered Him over, and human sin made His sacrificial death necessary; yet the risen Christ will stand revealed as the Lord and Messiah.

And all the tribes of the earth will mourn because of Him.

The nations will grieve when they face the holiness and authority of the King they have opposed. For those who have rejected Him, mourning will arise from dread of judgment; for those brought to repentance, it will include sorrow over sin and recognition of the crucified Lord. His return will vindicate God’s righteousness and bring every earthly power under Christ’s rule.
