"What is this wisdom that has been given to him? | 20because Herod was afraid of John. He knew that John was a righteous and holy man, and so he protected him. Whenever he listened to John, he did much of what he said. And when he heard him, he was very perplexed; but he used to enjoy listening to him. |
| 21An opportunity came during Herod's birthday celebration, when he gave a banquet for his top officials, military officers, and the most important people of Galilee. | 21A strategic day came when Herod on his birthday gave a banquet for his lords and military commanders and the leading men of Galilee; |
| 22When the daughter of Herodias came in and danced, she pleased Herod and his guests. So the king told the girl, "Ask me for anything you want, and I'll give it to you." | 22and when the daughter of Herodias herself came in and danced, she pleased Herod and his dinner guests; and the king said to the girl, "Ask me for whatever you want and I will give it to you." |

| 52because they didn't understand the significance of the loaves. Instead, their hearts were hardened. | 52for they had not gained any insight from the incident of the loaves, but their heart was hardened. |

| 56Wherever he went, whether into villages, towns, or farms, people would place their sick in the marketplaces and beg him to let them touch even the tassel of his garment, and everyone who touched it was healed. | 56Wherever He entered villages, or cities, or countryside, they were laying the sick in the market places, and imploring Him that they might just touch the fringe of His cloak; and as many as touched it were being cured. |
