A Psalm of Asaph. The mighty God, even the LORD, hath spoken, and called the earth from the rising of the sun unto the going down thereof.1A psalm of Asaph. Yahweh, the God of gods speaks; He summons the earth from east to west.
Out of Zion, the perfection of beauty, God hath shined.2From Zion, the perfection of beauty, God appears in radiance.
Our God shall come, and shall not keep silence: a fire shall devour before him, and it shall be very tempestuous round about him.3Our God is coming; He will not be silent! Devouring fire precedes Him, and a storm rages around Him.
He shall call to the heavens from above, and to the earth, that he may judge his people.4On high, He summons heaven and earth in order to judge His people."
Gather my saints together unto me; those that have made a covenant with me by sacrifice.5Gather My faithful ones to Me, those who made a covenant with Me by sacrifice."
And the heavens shall declare his righteousness: for God is judge himself. Selah.6The heavens proclaim His righteousness, for God is the Judge. Selah "
Hear, O my people, and I will speak; O Israel, and I will testify against thee: I am God, even thy God.7Listen, My people, and I will speak; I will testify against you, Israel. I am God, your God.
I will not reprove thee for thy sacrifices or thy burnt offerings, to have been continually before me.8I do not rebuke you for your sacrifices or for your burnt offerings, which are continually before Me.
I will take no bullock out of thy house, nor he goats out of thy folds.9I will not accept a bull from your household or male goats from your pens,
For every beast of the forest is mine, and the cattle upon a thousand hills.10for every animal of the forest is Mine, the cattle on a thousand hills.
I know all the fowls of the mountains: and the wild beasts of the field are mine.11I know every bird of the mountains, and the creatures of the field are Mine.
If I were hungry, I would not tell thee: for the world is mine, and the fulness thereof.12If I were hungry, I would not tell you, for the world and everything in it is Mine.
Will I eat the flesh of bulls, or drink the blood of goats?13Do I eat the flesh of bulls or drink the blood of goats?
Offer unto God thanksgiving; and pay thy vows unto the most High:14Sacrifice a thank offering to God, and pay your vows to the Most High.
And call upon me in the day of trouble: I will deliver thee, and thou shalt glorify me.15Call on Me in a day of trouble; I will rescue you, and you will honor Me."
But unto the wicked God saith, What hast thou to do to declare my statutes, or that thou shouldest take my covenant in thy mouth?16But God says to the wicked:" What right do you have to recite My statutes and to take My covenant on your lips?
Seeing thou hatest instruction, and castest my words behind thee.17You hate instruction and turn your back on My words.
When thou sawest a thief, then thou consentedst with him, and hast been partaker with adulterers.18When you see a thief, you make friends with him, and you associate with adulterers.
Thou givest thy mouth to evil, and thy tongue frameth deceit.19You unleash your mouth for evil and harness your tongue for deceit.
Thou sittest and speakest against thy brother; thou slanderest thine own mother's son.20You sit, maligning your brother, slandering your mother's son.
These things hast thou done, and I kept silence; thou thoughtest that I was altogether such an one as thyself: but I will reprove thee, and set them in order before thine eyes.21You have done these things, and I kept silent; you thought I was just like you. But I will rebuke you and lay out the case before you."
Now consider this, ye that forget God, lest I tear you in pieces, and there be none to deliver.22Understand this, you who forget God, or I will tear you apart, and there will be no one to rescue you.
Whoso offereth praise glorifieth me: and to him that ordereth his conversation aright will I shew the salvation of God.23Whoever sacrifices a thank offering honors Me, and whoever orders his conduct, I will show him the salvation of God."
