Psalm 50
KJV Parallel NIV [BSB CSB ESV HCS KJV ISV NAS NET NIV NLT HEB]
King James BibleNew International Version
A Psalm of Asaph. The mighty God, even the LORD, hath spoken, and called the earth from the rising of the sun unto the going down thereof.1A psalm of Asaph. The Mighty One, God, the LORD, speaks and summons the earth from the rising of the sun to where it sets.
Out of Zion, the perfection of beauty, God hath shined.2From Zion, perfect in beauty, God shines forth.
Our God shall come, and shall not keep silence: a fire shall devour before him, and it shall be very tempestuous round about him.3Our God comes and will not be silent; a fire devours before him, and around him a tempest rages.
He shall call to the heavens from above, and to the earth, that he may judge his people.4He summons the heavens above, and the earth, that he may judge his people:
Gather my saints together unto me; those that have made a covenant with me by sacrifice.5"Gather to me this consecrated people, who made a covenant with me by sacrifice."
And the heavens shall declare his righteousness: for God is judge himself. Selah.6And the heavens proclaim his righteousness, for he is a God of justice.
Hear, O my people, and I will speak; O Israel, and I will testify against thee: I am God, even thy God.7"Listen, my people, and I will speak; I will testify against you, Israel: I am God, your God.
I will not reprove thee for thy sacrifices or thy burnt offerings, to have been continually before me.8I bring no charges against you concerning your sacrifices or concerning your burnt offerings, which are ever before me.
I will take no bullock out of thy house, nor he goats out of thy folds.9I have no need of a bull from your stall or of goats from your pens,
For every beast of the forest is mine, and the cattle upon a thousand hills.10for every animal of the forest is mine, and the cattle on a thousand hills.
I know all the fowls of the mountains: and the wild beasts of the field are mine.11I know every bird in the mountains, and the insects in the fields are mine.
If I were hungry, I would not tell thee: for the world is mine, and the fulness thereof.12If I were hungry I would not tell you, for the world is mine, and all that is in it.
Will I eat the flesh of bulls, or drink the blood of goats?13Do I eat the flesh of bulls or drink the blood of goats?
Offer unto God thanksgiving; and pay thy vows unto the most High:14"Sacrifice thank offerings to God, fulfill your vows to the Most High,
And call upon me in the day of trouble: I will deliver thee, and thou shalt glorify me.15and call on me in the day of trouble; I will deliver you, and you will honor me."
But unto the wicked God saith, What hast thou to do to declare my statutes, or that thou shouldest take my covenant in thy mouth?16But to the wicked person, God says: "What right have you to recite my laws or take my covenant on your lips?
Seeing thou hatest instruction, and castest my words behind thee.17You hate my instruction and cast my words behind you.
When thou sawest a thief, then thou consentedst with him, and hast been partaker with adulterers.18When you see a thief, you join with him; you throw in your lot with adulterers.
Thou givest thy mouth to evil, and thy tongue frameth deceit.19You use your mouth for evil and harness your tongue to deceit.
Thou sittest and speakest against thy brother; thou slanderest thine own mother's son.20You sit and testify against your brother and slander your own mother's son.
These things hast thou done, and I kept silence; thou thoughtest that I was altogether such an one as thyself: but I will reprove thee, and set them in order before thine eyes.21When you did these things and I kept silent, you thought I was exactly like you. But I now arraign you and set my accusations before you.
Now consider this, ye that forget God, lest I tear you in pieces, and there be none to deliver.22"Consider this, you who forget God, or I will tear you to pieces, with no one to rescue you:
Whoso offereth praise glorifieth me: and to him that ordereth his conversation aright will I shew the salvation of God.23Those who sacrifice thank offerings honor me, and to the blameless I will show my salvation."
