Psalm 50
KJV Parallel ISV [BSB CSB ESV HCS KJV ISV NAS NET NIV NLT HEB]
King James BibleInternational Standard Version
A Psalm of Asaph. The mighty God, even the LORD, hath spoken, and called the earth from the rising of the sun unto the going down thereof.1God, the LORD, has spoken. He has summoned the earth from the rising of the sun to its setting place.
Out of Zion, the perfection of beauty, God hath shined.2From Zion, the perfection of beauty, God has shined forth.
Our God shall come, and shall not keep silence: a fire shall devour before him, and it shall be very tempestuous round about him.3Our God has appeared and he has not been silent; a devouring fire blazed before him, and a mighty storm swirled around him.
He shall call to the heavens from above, and to the earth, that he may judge his people.4He summoned the heavens above and the earth below, to sit in judgment on his people.
Gather my saints together unto me; those that have made a covenant with me by sacrifice.5"Assemble before me, my saints, who have entered into my covenant by sacrifice."
And the heavens shall declare his righteousness: for God is judge himself. Selah.6The heavens revealed his justice, for God is himself the judge. Interlude
Hear, O my people, and I will speak; O Israel, and I will testify against thee: I am God, even thy God.7"Listen, my people, for I am making a pronouncement: Israel, I, God, your God, am testifying against you.
I will not reprove thee for thy sacrifices or thy burnt offerings, to have been continually before me.8I do not rebuke you because of your sacrifices; indeed, your burnt offerings are continuously before me.
I will take no bullock out of thy house, nor he goats out of thy folds.9I will no longer accept a sacrificial bull from your household; nor goats from your pens.
For every beast of the forest is mine, and the cattle upon a thousand hills.10Indeed, every animal of the forest is mine, even the cattle on a thousand hills.
I know all the fowls of the mountains: and the wild beasts of the field are mine.11I know all the birds in the mountains; indeed, everything that moves in the field is mine.
If I were hungry, I would not tell thee: for the world is mine, and the fulness thereof.12"If I were hungry, I would not tell you; for the world is mine along with everything in it.
Will I eat the flesh of bulls, or drink the blood of goats?13Why should I eat the flesh of oxen or drink the blood of goats?
Offer unto God thanksgiving; and pay thy vows unto the most High:14Offer to God a thanksgiving praise; pay your vows to the Most High.
And call upon me in the day of trouble: I will deliver thee, and thou shalt glorify me.15Call on me in the day of distress; I will deliver you, and you will glorify me."
But unto the wicked God saith, What hast thou to do to declare my statutes, or that thou shouldest take my covenant in thy mouth?16As for the wicked, God says, "How dare you recite my statutes or speak about my covenant with your lips!
Seeing thou hatest instruction, and castest my words behind thee.17You hate instruction and toss my words behind you.
When thou sawest a thief, then thou consentedst with him, and hast been partaker with adulterers.18When you see a thief, you befriend him, and you keep company with adulterers.
Thou givest thy mouth to evil, and thy tongue frameth deceit.19You give your mouth free reign for evil, and your tongue devises deceit.
Thou sittest and speakest against thy brother; thou slanderest thine own mother's son.20You sit and speak against your brother; you slander your own mother's son.
These things hast thou done, and I kept silence; thou thoughtest that I was altogether such an one as thyself: but I will reprove thee, and set them in order before thine eyes.21These things you did, and I kept silent, because you assumed that I was like you. But now I am going to rebuke you, and I will set forth my case before your very own eyes."
Now consider this, ye that forget God, lest I tear you in pieces, and there be none to deliver.22Consider this, you who have forgotten God— Otherwise, I will tear you in pieces and there will be no deliverer:
Whoso offereth praise glorifieth me: and to him that ordereth his conversation aright will I shew the salvation of God.23Whoever offers a sacrifice of thanksgiving glorifies me, and I will reveal the salvation of God to whomever continues in my way."
