King James BibleNET Bible
To the chief Musician, A Psalm and Song of David. Praise waiteth for thee, O God, in Sion: and unto thee shall the vow be performed.1For the music director; a psalm of David, a song. Praise awaits you, O God, in Zion. Vows made to you are fulfilled.
O thou that hearest prayer, unto thee shall all flesh come.2You hear prayers; all people approach you.
Iniquities prevail against me: as for our transgressions, thou shalt purge them away.3Our record of sins overwhelms me, but you forgive our acts of rebellion.
Blessed is the man whom thou choosest, and causest to approach unto thee, that he may dwell in thy courts: we shall be satisfied with the goodness of thy house, even of thy holy temple.4How blessed is the one whom you choose, and allow to live in your palace courts. May we be satisfied with the good things of your house--your holy palace.
By terrible things in righteousness wilt thou answer us, O God of our salvation; who art the confidence of all the ends of the earth, and of them that are afar off upon the sea:5You answer our prayers by performing awesome acts of deliverance, O God, our savior. All the ends of the earth trust in you, as well as those living across the wide seas.
Which by his strength setteth fast the mountains; being girded with power:6You created the mountains by your power, and demonstrated your strength.
Which stilleth the noise of the seas, the noise of their waves, and the tumult of the people.7You calm the raging seas and their roaring waves, as well as the commotion made by the nations.
They also that dwell in the uttermost parts are afraid at thy tokens: thou makest the outgoings of the morning and evening to rejoice.8Even those living in the most remote areas are awestruck by your acts; you cause those living in the east and west to praise you.
Thou visitest the earth, and waterest it: thou greatly enrichest it with the river of God, which is full of water: thou preparest them corn, when thou hast so provided for it.9You visit the earth and give it rain; you make it rich and fertile with overflowing streams full of water. You provide grain for them, for you prepare the earth to yield its crops.
Thou waterest the ridges thereof abundantly: thou settlest the furrows thereof: thou makest it soft with showers: thou blessest the springing thereof.10You saturate its furrows, and soak its plowed ground. With rain showers you soften its soil, and make its crops grow.
Thou crownest the year with thy goodness; and thy paths drop fatness.11You crown the year with your good blessings, and you leave abundance in your wake.
They drop upon the pastures of the wilderness: and the little hills rejoice on every side.12The pastures in the wilderness glisten with moisture, and the hills are clothed with joy.
The pastures are clothed with flocks; the valleys also are covered over with corn; they shout for joy, they also sing.13The meadows are clothed with sheep, and the valleys are covered with grain. They shout joyfully, yes, they sing.
