Psalm 65
KJV Parallel NLT [BSB CSB ESV HCS KJV ISV NAS NET NIV NLT HEB]
King James BibleNew Living Translation
To the chief Musician, A Psalm and Song of David. Praise waiteth for thee, O God, in Sion: and unto thee shall the vow be performed.1What mighty praise, O God, belongs to you in Zion. We will fulfill our vows to you,
O thou that hearest prayer, unto thee shall all flesh come.2for you answer our prayers. All of us must come to you.
Iniquities prevail against me: as for our transgressions, thou shalt purge them away.3Though we are overwhelmed by our sins, you forgive them all.
Blessed is the man whom thou choosest, and causest to approach unto thee, that he may dwell in thy courts: we shall be satisfied with the goodness of thy house, even of thy holy temple.4What joy for those you choose to bring near, those who live in your holy courts. What festivities await us inside your holy Temple.
By terrible things in righteousness wilt thou answer us, O God of our salvation; who art the confidence of all the ends of the earth, and of them that are afar off upon the sea:5You faithfully answer our prayers with awesome deeds, O God our savior. You are the hope of everyone on earth, even those who sail on distant seas.
Which by his strength setteth fast the mountains; being girded with power:6You formed the mountains by your power and armed yourself with mighty strength.
Which stilleth the noise of the seas, the noise of their waves, and the tumult of the people.7You quieted the raging oceans with their pounding waves and silenced the shouting of the nations.
They also that dwell in the uttermost parts are afraid at thy tokens: thou makest the outgoings of the morning and evening to rejoice.8Those who live at the ends of the earth stand in awe of your wonders. From where the sun rises to where it sets, you inspire shouts of joy.
Thou visitest the earth, and waterest it: thou greatly enrichest it with the river of God, which is full of water: thou preparest them corn, when thou hast so provided for it.9You take care of the earth and water it, making it rich and fertile. The river of God has plenty of water; it provides a bountiful harvest of grain, for you have ordered it so.
Thou waterest the ridges thereof abundantly: thou settlest the furrows thereof: thou makest it soft with showers: thou blessest the springing thereof.10You drench the plowed ground with rain, melting the clods and leveling the ridges. You soften the earth with showers and bless its abundant crops.
Thou crownest the year with thy goodness; and thy paths drop fatness.11You crown the year with a bountiful harvest; even the hard pathways overflow with abundance.
They drop upon the pastures of the wilderness: and the little hills rejoice on every side.12The grasslands of the wilderness become a lush pasture, and the hillsides blossom with joy.
The pastures are clothed with flocks; the valleys also are covered over with corn; they shout for joy, they also sing.13The meadows are clothed with flocks of sheep, and the valleys are carpeted with grain. They all shout and sing for joy!
