NASB Parallel BSB [BSB CSB ESV HCS KJV ISV NAS NET NIV NLT HEB]
New American Standard Bible 1995Berean Study Bible
A Prayer of Moses, the man of God. Lord, You have been our dwelling place in all generations.1A prayer of Moses the man of God. Lord, You have been our dwelling place through all generations.
Before the mountains were born Or You gave birth to the earth and the world, Even from everlasting to everlasting, You are God.2Before the mountains were born or You brought forth the earth and the world, from everlasting to everlasting You are God.
You turn man back into dust And say, "Return, O children of men."3You return man to dust, saying, “Return, O sons of mortals.”
For a thousand years in Your sight Are like yesterday when it passes by, Or as a watch in the night.4For in Your sight a thousand years are but a day that passes, or a watch of the night.
You have swept them away like a flood, they fall asleep; In the morning they are like grass which sprouts anew.5You whisk them away in their sleep; they are like the new grass of the morning—
In the morning it flourishes and sprouts anew; Toward evening it fades and withers away.6in the morning it springs up new, but by evening it fades and withers.
For we have been consumed by Your anger And by Your wrath we have been dismayed.7For we are consumed by Your anger and terrified by Your wrath.
You have placed our iniquities before You, Our secret sins in the light of Your presence.8You have set our iniquities before You, our secret sins in the light of Your presence.
For all our days have declined in Your fury; We have finished our years like a sigh.9For all our days decline in Your fury; we finish our years with a sigh.
As for the days of our life, they contain seventy years, Or if due to strength, eighty years, Yet their pride is but labor and sorrow; For soon it is gone and we fly away.10The length of our days is seventy years—or eighty if we are strong—yet their pride is but labor and sorrow, for they quickly pass, and we fly away.
Who understands the power of Your anger And Your fury, according to the fear that is due You?11Who knows the power of Your anger? Your wrath matches the fear You are due.
So teach us to number our days, That we may present to You a heart of wisdom.12So teach us to number our days, that we may present a heart of wisdom.
Do return, O LORD; how long will it be? And be sorry for Your servants.13Return, O LORD! How long will it be? Have compassion on Your servants.
O satisfy us in the morning with Your lovingkindness, That we may sing for joy and be glad all our days.14Satisfy us in the morning with Your loving devotion, that we may sing for joy and be glad all our days.
Make us glad according to the days You have afflicted us, And the years we have seen evil.15Make us glad for as many days as You have afflicted us, for as many years as we have seen evil.
Let Your work appear to Your servants And Your majesty to their children.16May Your work be shown to Your servants, and Your splendor to their children.
Let the favor of the Lord our God be upon us; And confirm for us the work of our hands; Yes, confirm the work of our hands.17May the favor of the Lord our God rest upon us; establish for us the work of our hands—yes, establish the work of our hands!
