Psalm 90
NASB Parallel NET [BSB CSB ESV HCS KJV ISV NAS NET NIV NLT HEB]
New American Standard Bible 1995NET Bible
A Prayer of Moses, the man of God. Lord, You have been our dwelling place in all generations.1A prayer of Moses, the man of God. O Lord, you have been our protector through all generations!
Before the mountains were born Or You gave birth to the earth and the world, Even from everlasting to everlasting, You are God.2Even before the mountains came into existence, or you brought the world into being, you were the eternal God.
You turn man back into dust And say, "Return, O children of men."3You make mankind return to the dust, and say, "Return, O people!"
For a thousand years in Your sight Are like yesterday when it passes by, Or as a watch in the night.4Yes, in your eyes a thousand years are like yesterday that quickly passes, or like one of the divisions of the nighttime.
You have swept them away like a flood, they fall asleep; In the morning they are like grass which sprouts anew.5You bring their lives to an end and they "fall asleep." In the morning they are like the grass that sprouts up;
In the morning it flourishes and sprouts anew; Toward evening it fades and withers away.6in the morning it glistens and sprouts up; at evening time it withers and dries up.
For we have been consumed by Your anger And by Your wrath we have been dismayed.7Yes, we are consumed by your anger; we are terrified by your wrath.
You have placed our iniquities before You, Our secret sins in the light of Your presence.8You are aware of our sins; you even know about our hidden sins.
For all our days have declined in Your fury; We have finished our years like a sigh.9Yes, throughout all our days we experience your raging fury; the years of our lives pass quickly, like a sigh.
As for the days of our life, they contain seventy years, Or if due to strength, eighty years, Yet their pride is but labor and sorrow; For soon it is gone and we fly away.10The days of our lives add up to seventy years, or eighty, if one is especially strong. But even one's best years are marred by trouble and oppression. Yes, they pass quickly and we fly away.
Who understands the power of Your anger And Your fury, according to the fear that is due You?11Who can really fathom the intensity of your anger? Your raging fury causes people to fear you.
So teach us to number our days, That we may present to You a heart of wisdom.12So teach us to consider our mortality, so that we might live wisely.
Do return, O LORD; how long will it be? And be sorry for Your servants.13Turn back toward us, O LORD! How long must this suffering last? Have pity on your servants!
O satisfy us in the morning with Your lovingkindness, That we may sing for joy and be glad all our days.14Satisfy us in the morning with your loyal love! Then we will shout for joy and be happy all our days!
Make us glad according to the days You have afflicted us, And the years we have seen evil.15Make us happy in proportion to the days you have afflicted us, in proportion to the years we have experienced trouble!
Let Your work appear to Your servants And Your majesty to their children.16May your servants see your work! May their sons see your majesty!
Let the favor of the Lord our God be upon us; And confirm for us the work of our hands; Yes, confirm the work of our hands.17May our sovereign God extend his favor to us! Make our endeavors successful! Yes, make them successful!
