And He said, "Truly I say to you, this poor widow put in more than all of them;3"Truly I tell you," he said, "this poor widow has put in more than all the others.
for they all out of their surplus put into the offering; but she out of her poverty put in all that she had to live on."4All these people gave their gifts out of their wealth; but she out of her poverty put in all she had to live on."
And while some were talking about the temple, that it was adorned with beautiful stones and votive gifts, He said,5Some of his disciples were remarking about how the temple was adorned with beautiful stones and with gifts dedicated to God. But Jesus said,
"As for these things which you are looking at, the days will come in which there will not be left one stone upon another which will not be torn down."6"As for what you see here, the time will come when not one stone will be left on another; every one of them will be thrown down."
They questioned Him, saying, "Teacher, when therefore will these things happen? And what will be the sign when these things are about to take place?"7"Teacher," they asked, "when will these things happen? And what will be the sign that they are about to take place?"
And He said, "See to it that you are not misled; for many will come in My name, saying, 'I am He,' and, 'The time is near.' Do not go after them.8He replied: "Watch out that you are not deceived. For many will come in my name, claiming, 'I am he,' and, 'The time is near.' Do not follow them.
"When you hear of wars and disturbances, do not be terrified; for these things must take place first, but the end does not follow immediately."9When you hear of wars and uprisings, do not be frightened. These things must happen first, but the end will not come right away."
Then He continued by saying to them, "Nation will rise against nation and kingdom against kingdom,10Then he said to them: "Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom.
and there will be great earthquakes, and in various places plagues and famines; and there will be terrors and great signs from heaven.11There will be great earthquakes, famines and pestilences in various places, and fearful events and great signs from heaven.
"But before all these things, they will lay their hands on you and will persecute you, delivering you to the synagogues and prisons, bringing you before kings and governors for My name's sake.12"But before all this, they will seize you and persecute you. They will hand you over to synagogues and put you in prison, and you will be brought before kings and governors, and all on account of my name.
"It will lead to an opportunity for your testimony.13And so you will bear testimony to me.
"So make up your minds not to prepare beforehand to defend yourselves;14But make up your mind not to worry beforehand how you will defend yourselves.
for I will give you utterance and wisdom which none of your opponents will be able to resist or refute.15For I will give you words and wisdom that none of your adversaries will be able to resist or contradict.
"But you will be betrayed even by parents and brothers and relatives and friends, and they will put some of you to death,16You will be betrayed even by parents, brothers and sisters, relatives and friends, and they will put some of you to death.
and you will be hated by all because of My name.17Everyone will hate you because of me.
"Yet not a hair of your head will perish.18But not a hair of your head will perish.
"By your endurance you will gain your lives.19Stand firm, and you will win life.
"But when you see Jerusalem surrounded by armies, then recognize that her desolation is near.20"When you see Jerusalem being surrounded by armies, you will know that its desolation is near.
"Then those who are in Judea must flee to the mountains, and those who are in the midst of the city must leave, and those who are in the country must not enter the city;21Then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains, let those in the city get out, and let those in the country not enter the city.
because these are days of vengeance, so that all things which are written will be fulfilled.22For this is the time of punishment in fulfillment of all that has been written.
"Woe to those who are pregnant and to those who are nursing babies in those days; for there will be great distress upon the land and wrath to this people;23How dreadful it will be in those days for pregnant women and nursing mothers! There will be great distress in the land and wrath against this people.
and they will fall by the edge of the sword, and will be led captive into all the nations; and Jerusalem will be trampled under foot by the Gentiles until the times of the Gentiles are fulfilled.24They will fall by the sword and will be taken as prisoners to all the nations. Jerusalem will be trampled on by the Gentiles until the times of the Gentiles are fulfilled.
"There will be signs in sun and moon and stars, and on the earth dismay among nations, in perplexity at the roaring of the sea and the waves,25"There will be signs in the sun, moon and stars. On the earth, nations will be in anguish and perplexity at the roaring and tossing of the sea.
men fainting from fear and the expectation of the things which are coming upon the world; for the powers of the heavens will be shaken.26People will faint from terror, apprehensive of what is coming on the world, for the heavenly bodies will be shaken.
"Then they will see THE SON OF MAN COMING IN A CLOUD with power and great glory.27At that time they will see the Son of Man coming in a cloud with power and great glory.
"But when these things begin to take place, straighten up and lift up your heads, because your redemption is drawing near."28When these things begin to take place, stand up and lift up your heads, because your redemption is drawing near."
Then He told them a parable: "Behold the fig tree and all the trees;29He told them this parable: "Look at the fig tree and all the trees.
as soon as they put forth leaves, you see it and know for yourselves that summer is now near.30When they sprout leaves, you can see for yourselves and know that summer is near.
"So you also, when you see these things happening, recognize that the kingdom of God is near.31Even so, when you see these things happening, you know that the kingdom of God is near.

"Heaven and earth will pass away, but My words will not pass away.33Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will never pass away.
"Be on guard, so that your hearts will not be weighted down with dissipation and drunkenness and the worries of life, and that day will not come on you suddenly like a trap;34"Be careful, or your hearts will be weighed down with carousing, drunkenness and the anxieties of life, and that day will close on you suddenly like a trap.
for it will come upon all those who dwell on the face of all the earth.35For it will come on all those who live on the face of the whole earth.
"But keep on the alert at all times, praying that you may have strength to escape all these things that are about to take place, and to stand before the Son of Man."36Be always on the watch, and pray that you may be able to escape all that is about to happen, and that you may be able to stand before the Son of Man."
