| 1Next we set out on the route to Bashan, but King Og of Bashan and his whole army came out to meet us in battle at Edrei. | 1“Then we turned and went up the way to Bashan. And Og the king of Bashan came out against us, he and all his people, to battle at Edrei. |
| 2The LORD, however, said to me, "Don't be afraid of him because I have already given him, his whole army, and his land to you. You will do to him exactly what you did to King Sihon of the Amorites who lived in Heshbon." | 2But the LORD said to me, ‘Do not fear him, for I have given him and all his people and his land into your hand. And you shall do to him as you did to Sihon the king of the Amorites, who lived at Heshbon.’ |
| 3So the LORD our God did indeed give over to us King Og of Bashan and his whole army and we struck them down until not a single survivor was left. | 3So the LORD our God gave into our hand Og also, the king of Bashan, and all his people, and we struck him down until he had no survivor left. |

| 20You must fight until the LORD gives your countrymen victory as he did you and they take possession of the land that the LORD your God is giving them on the other side of the Jordan River. Then each of you may return to his own territory that I have given you." | 20until the LORD gives rest to your brothers, as to you, and they also occupy the land that the LORD your God gives them beyond the Jordan. | 24"O, Lord GOD, you have begun to show me your greatness and strength. For what god is there in heaven or on earth who can do such works and mighty acts as yours? |
| 25Let me please cross over to see the good land on the other side of the Jordan River--this good hill country and the Lebanon!" | 25Please let me go over and see the good land beyond the Jordan, that good hill country and Lebanon.’ |
| 26But the LORD was angry at me because of you and would not listen to me. Instead, he said to me, "Enough of that! Do not speak to me anymore about this matter. | 26But the LORD was angry with me because of you and would not listen to me. And the LORD said to me, ‘Enough from you; do not speak to me of this matter again. |
| 27Go up to the top of Pisgah and take a good look to the west, north, south, and east, for you will not be allowed to cross the Jordan. | 27Go up to the top of Pisgah and lift up your eyes westward and northward and southward and eastward, and look at it with your eyes, for you shall not go over this Jordan. |
| 28Commission Joshua, and encourage and strengthen him, because he will lead these people over and will enable them to inherit the land you will see." | 28But charge Joshua, and encourage and strengthen him, for he shall go over at the head of this people, and he shall put them in possession of the land that you shall see.’ |
