| 1Jesus left there and went to his hometown, accompanied by his disciples. | 1Jesus went out from there and came into His hometown; and His disciples followed Him. |
| 2When the Sabbath came, he began to teach in the synagogue, and many who heard him were amazed. "Where did this man get these things?" they asked. "What's this wisdom that has been given him? | 22When the daughter of Herodias came in and danced, she pleased Herod and his dinner guests. The king said to the girl, "Ask me for anything you want, and I'll give it to you." | 22and when the daughter of Herodias herself came in and danced, she pleased Herod and his dinner guests; and the king said to the girl, "Ask me for whatever you want and I will give it to you." |

| 27So he immediately sent an executioner with orders to bring John's head. The man went, beheaded John in the prison, | 27Immediately the king sent an executioner and commanded him to bring back his head. And he went and had him beheaded in the prison, |

| 39Then Jesus directed them to have all the people sit down in groups on the green grass. | 39And He commanded them all to sit down by groups on the green grass. |

| 51Then he climbed into the boat with them, and the wind died down. They were completely amazed, | 51Then He got into the boat with them, and the wind stopped; and they were utterly astonished, |
| 52for they had not understood about the loaves; their hearts were hardened. | 52for they had not gained any insight from the incident of the loaves, but their heart was hardened. |
| 53When they had crossed over, they landed at Gennesaret and anchored there. | 53When they had crossed over they came to land at Gennesaret, and moored to the shore. |
| 54As soon as they got out of the boat, people recognized Jesus. | 54When they got out of the boat, immediately the people recognized Him, |
| 55They ran throughout that whole region and carried the sick on mats to wherever they heard he was. | 55and ran about that whole country and began to carry here and there on their pallets those who were sick, to the place they heard He was. |
| 56And wherever he went--into villages, towns or countryside--they placed the sick in the marketplaces. They begged him to let them touch even the edge of his cloak, and all who touched it were healed. | 56Wherever He entered villages, or cities, or countryside, they were laying the sick in the market places, and imploring Him that they might just touch the fringe of His cloak; and as many as touched it were being cured. |
