Psalm 25
New International VersionNET Bible
Of David. In you, LORD my God, I put my trust.1By David. O LORD, I come before you in prayer.
I trust in you; do not let me be put to shame, nor let my enemies triumph over me.2My God, I trust in you. Please do not let me be humiliated; do not let my enemies triumphantly rejoice over me!
No one who hopes in you will ever be put to shame, but shame will come on those who are treacherous without cause.3Certainly none who rely on you will be humiliated. Those who deal in treachery will be thwarted and humiliated.
Show me your ways, LORD, teach me your paths.4Make me understand your ways, O LORD! Teach me your paths!
Guide me in your truth and teach me, for you are God my Savior, and my hope is in you all day long.5Guide me into your truth and teach me. For you are the God who delivers me; on you I rely all day long.
Remember, LORD, your great mercy and love, for they are from of old.6Remember your compassionate and faithful deeds, O LORD, for you have always acted in this manner.
Do not remember the sins of my youth and my rebellious ways; according to your love remember me, for you, LORD, are good.7Do not hold against me the sins of my youth or my rebellious acts! Because you are faithful to me, extend to me your favor, O LORD!
Good and upright is the LORD; therefore he instructs sinners in his ways.8The LORD is both kind and fair; that is why he teaches sinners the right way to live.
He guides the humble in what is right and teaches them his way.9May he show the humble what is right! May he teach the humble his way!
All the ways of the LORD are loving and faithful toward those who keep the demands of his covenant.10The LORD always proves faithful and reliable to those who follow the demands of his covenant.
For the sake of your name, LORD, forgive my iniquity, though it is great.11For the sake of your reputation, O LORD, forgive my sin, because it is great.
Who, then, are those who fear the LORD? He will instruct them in the ways they should choose.12The LORD shows his faithful followers the way they should live.
They will spend their days in prosperity, and their descendants will inherit the land.13They experience his favor; their descendants inherit the land.
The LORD confides in those who fear him; he makes his covenant known to them.14The LORD's loyal followers receive his guidance, and he reveals his covenantal demands to them.
My eyes are ever on the LORD, for only he will release my feet from the snare.15I continually look to the LORD for help, for he will free my feet from the enemy's net.
Turn to me and be gracious to me, for I am lonely and afflicted.16Turn toward me and have mercy on me, for I am alone and oppressed!
Relieve the troubles of my heart and free me from my anguish.17Deliver me from my distress; rescue me from my suffering!
Look on my affliction and my distress and take away all my sins.18See my pain and suffering! Forgive all my sins!
See how numerous are my enemies and how fiercely they hate me!19Watch my enemies, for they outnumber me; they hate me and want to harm me.
Guard my life and rescue me; do not let me be put to shame, for I take refuge in you.20Protect me and deliver me! Please do not let me be humiliated, for I have taken shelter in you!
May integrity and uprightness protect me, because my hope, LORD, is in you.21May integrity and godliness protect me, for I rely on you!
Deliver Israel, O God, from all their troubles!22O God, rescue Israel from all their distress!
