2 She arrived in Jerusalem with a very large caravan— with camels bearing spices, gold in great abundance, and precious stones. So she came to Solomon and spoke to him all that was on her mind. She came to Jerusalem with a very great retinue, with camels bearing spices and very much gold and precious stones. And when she came to Solomon, she told him all that was on her mind. And she came to Jerusalem with a very great train, with camels that bare spices, and very much gold, and precious stones: and when she was come to Solomon, she communed with him of all that was in her heart. And the meat of his table, and the sitting of his servants, and the attendance of his ministers, and their apparel, and his cupbearers, and his ascent by which he went up unto the house of the LORD; there was no more spirit in her. and the food of his table, the seating of his servants, the service of his waiters and their attire, his cupbearers, and his burnt offerings which he offered at the house of the LORD, she was breathless. the food on his table, the seating of his officials, the attending servants in their robes, his cupbearers, and the burnt offerings he made at the temple of the LORD, she was overwhelmed.
6 She said to the king, “The report I heard in my own country about your words and wisdom is true. And she said to the king, “The report was true that I heard in my own land of your words and of your wisdom, And she said to the king, It was a true report that I heard in mine own land of thy acts and of thy wisdom. Then she said to the king, “It was a true story that I heard in my own land about your words and your wisdom. She said to the king, “The report I heard in my own country about your achievements and your wisdom is true.
7 But I did not believe these things until I came and saw with my own eyes. Indeed, not even half was told to me. Your wisdom and prosperity have far exceeded the report I heard. but I did not believe the reports until I came and my own eyes had seen it. And behold, the half was not told me. Your wisdom and prosperity surpass the report that I heard. Howbeit I believed not the words, until I came, and mine eyes had seen <i>it</i>: and, behold, the half was not told me: thy wisdom and prosperity exceedeth the fame which I heard. But I did not believe the stories until I came and my <i>own</i> eyes saw <i>it all.</i> And behold, the half <i>of it</i> was not reported to me. You have exceeded <i>in</i> wisdom and prosperity the report which I heard. But I did not believe these things until I came and saw with my own eyes. Indeed, not even half was told me; in wisdom and wealth you have far exceeded the report I heard.
8 How blessed are your men! How blessed are these servants of yours who stand continually before you and hear your wisdom! Happy are your men! Happy are your servants, who continually stand before you and hear your wisdom! Happy <i>are</i> thy men, happy <i>are</i> these thy servants, which stand continually before thee, <i>and</i> that hear thy wisdom. Blessed are your men, <i>and</i> blessed are these servants of yours who stand before you continually <i>and</i> hear your wisdom! How happy your people must be! How happy your officials, who continually stand before you and hear your wisdom!
9 Blessed be the LORD your God, who has delighted in you to set you on the throne of Israel. Because of the LORD’s eternal love for Israel, He has made you king to carry out justice and righteousness.” Blessed be the LORD your God, who has delighted in you and set you on the throne of Israel! Because the LORD loved Israel forever, he has made you king, that you may execute justice and righteousness.” Blessed be the LORD thy God, which delighted in thee, to set thee on the throne of Israel: because the LORD loved Israel for ever, therefore made he thee king, to do judgment and justice. Blessed be the LORD your God who delighted in you to put you on the throne of Israel; because the LORD loves Israel forever, He made you king, to do justice and righteousness.” Praise be to the LORD your God, who has delighted in you and placed you on the throne of Israel. Because of the LORD’s eternal love for Israel, he has made you king to maintain justice and righteousness.”
10 Then she gave the king 120 talents of gold, a great quantity of spices, and precious stones. Never again was such an abundance of spices brought in as those the queen of Sheba gave to King Solomon. Then she gave the king 120 talents of gold, and a very great quantity of spices and precious stones. Never again came such an abundance of spices as these that the queen of Sheba gave to King Solomon. And she gave the king an hundred and twenty talents of gold, and of spices very great store, and precious stones: there came no more such abundance of spices as these which the queen of Sheba gave to king Solomon. Then she gave the king 120 talents of gold, and a very large <i>amount</i> of balsam oil and precious stones. Never again did such a large quantity of balsam oil come in as that which the queen of Sheba gave King Solomon. And she gave the king 120 talents of gold, large quantities of spices, and precious stones. Never again were so many spices brought in as those the queen of Sheba gave to King Solomon.
11 (The fleet of Hiram that brought gold from Ophir also brought from Ophir a great cargo of almug wood and precious stones. Moreover, the fleet of Hiram, which brought gold from Ophir, brought from Ophir a very great amount of almug wood and precious stones. And the navy also of Hiram, that brought gold from Ophir, brought in from Ophir great plenty of almug trees, and precious stones. And the ships of Hiram as well, which brought gold from Ophir, brought in from Ophir a very great <i>number of</i> almug trees and precious stones. 12 The king made the almug wood into steps for the house of the LORD and for the king’s palace, and into lyres and harps for the singers. Never before had such almug wood been brought in, nor has such been seen to this day.) And the king made of the almug wood supports for the house of the LORD and for the king’s house, also lyres and harps for the singers. No such almug wood has come or been seen to this day. And the king made of the almug trees pillars for the house of the LORD, and for the king's house, harps also and psalteries for singers: there came no such almug trees, nor were seen unto this day. The king made from the almug trees supports for the house of the LORD and for the king’s house, and lyres and harps for the singers; such almug trees have not come in <i>again,</i> nor have they been seen to this day. The king used the almugwood to make supports for the temple of the LORD and for the royal palace, and to make harps and lyres for the musicians. So much almugwood has never been imported or seen since that day.)
13 King Solomon gave the queen of Sheba all she desired— whatever she asked— besides what he had given her out of his royal bounty. Then she left and returned to her own country, along with her servants. And King Solomon gave to the queen of Sheba all that she desired, whatever she asked besides what was given her by the bounty of King Solomon. So she turned and went back to her own land with her servants. And king Solomon gave unto the queen of Sheba all her desire, whatsoever she asked, beside <i>that</i> which Solomon gave her of his royal bounty. So she turned and went to her own country, she and her servants. And King Solomon granted the queen of Sheba everything she desired, whatever she requested, besides what he gave her in proportion to his royal bounty. Then she departed and went to her own land together with her servants. King Solomon gave the queen of Sheba all she desired and asked for, besides what he had given her out of his royal bounty. Then she left and returned with her retinue to her own country.

15 not including the revenue from the merchants, traders, and all the Arabian kings and governors of the land. besides that which came from the explorers and from the business of the merchants, and from all the kings of the west and from the governors of the land. 16 King Solomon made two hundred large shields of hammered gold; six hundred shekels of gold went into each shield. 21 All King Solomon’s drinking cups were gold, and all the utensils of the House of the Forest of Lebanon were pure gold. There was no silver, because it was accounted as nothing in the days of Solomon. All King Solomon’s drinking vessels were of gold, and all the vessels of the House of the Forest of Lebanon were of pure gold. None were of silver; silver was not considered as anything in the days of Solomon. And all king Solomon's drinking vessels <i>were of</i> gold, and all the vessels of the house of the forest of Lebanon <i>were of</i> pure gold; none <i>were of</i> silver: it was nothing accounted of in the days of Solomon. Now all King Solomon’s drinking utensils <i>were</i> of gold, and all the utensils of the house of the timber of Lebanon <i>were</i> of pure gold. None was of silver; it was not considered <i>as amounting to</i> anything in the days of Solomon. All King Solomon’s goblets were gold, and all the household articles in the Palace of the Forest of Lebanon were pure gold. Nothing was made of silver, because silver was considered of little value in Solomon’s days.
22 For the king had the ships of Tarshish at sea with Hiram’s fleet, and once every three years the ships of Tarshish would arrive bearing gold, silver, ivory, apes, and peacocks. For the king had a fleet of ships of Tarshish at sea with the fleet of Hiram. Once every three years the fleet of ships of Tarshish used to come bringing gold, silver, ivory, apes, and peacocks. 23 So King Solomon surpassed all the kings of the earth in riches and wisdom. Thus King Solomon excelled all the kings of the earth in riches and in wisdom. So king Solomon exceeded all the kings of the earth for riches and for wisdom. So King Solomon became greater than all the kings of the earth in wealth and wisdom. King Solomon was greater in riches and wisdom than all the other kings of the earth.
24 The whole world sought an audience with Solomon to hear the wisdom that God had put in his heart. And the whole earth sought the presence of Solomon to hear his wisdom, which God had put into his mind. And all the earth sought to Solomon, to hear his wisdom, which God had put in his heart. And all the earth was seeking the attention of Solomon, to hear his wisdom, which God had put in his heart. The whole world sought audience with Solomon to hear the wisdom God had put in his heart.
25 Year after year, each visitor would bring his tribute: articles of silver and gold, clothing, weapons, spices, horses, and mules. Every one of them brought his present, articles of silver and gold, garments, myrrh, spices, horses, and mules, so much year by year. And they brought every man his present, vessels of silver, and vessels of gold, and garments, and armour, and spices, horses, and mules, a rate year by year. And they were bringing, everyone, a gift: articles of silver and gold, garments, weapons, balsam oil, horses, and mules, so much year by year. Year after year, everyone who came brought a gift—articles of silver and gold, robes, weapons and spices, and horses and mules.
26 Solomon accumulated 1,400 chariots and 12,000 horses, which he stationed in the chariot cities and also with him in Jerusalem. And Solomon gathered together chariots and horsemen. He had 1,400 chariots and 12,000 horsemen, whom he stationed in the chariot cities and with the king in Jerusalem. 28 Solomon’s horses were imported from Egypt and Kue; the royal merchants purchased them from Kue. And Solomon’s import of horses was from Egypt and Kue, and the king’s traders received them from Kue at a price. And Solomon had horses brought out of Egypt, and linen yarn: the king's merchants received the linen yarn at a price. Also Solomon’s import of horses was from Egypt and Kue, <i>and</i> the king’s merchants acquired <i>them</i> from Kue for a price. Solomon’s horses were imported from Egypt and from Kue —the royal merchants purchased them from Kue at the current price.
29 A chariot could be imported from Egypt for six hundred shekels of silver, and a horse for a hundred and fifty. Likewise, they exported them to all the kings of the Hittites and to the kings of Aram. A chariot could be imported from Egypt for 600 shekels of silver and a horse for 150, and so through the king’s traders they were exported to all the kings of the Hittites and the kings of Syria. And a chariot came up and went out of Egypt for six hundred <i>shekels</i> of silver, and an horse for an hundred and fifty: and so for all the kings of the Hittites, and for the kings of Syria, did they bring <i>them</i> out by their means. A chariot was imported from Egypt for six hundred <i>shekels</i> of silver, and a horse for 150; and by the same means they exported them to all the kings of the Hittites and to the kings of the Arameans.
