The author of Hebrews also attests to Jesus' divine status, stating, "But about the Son He says: 'Your throne, O God, endures forever and ever, and justice is the scepter of Your kingdom'" (Hebrews 1:8). Here, the Son is directly addressed as God, affirming His eternal sovereignty.

Divine Attributes and Works

Jesus' divine attributes and works further testify to His identity as God. He possesses omniscience, as demonstrated in John 16:30, where His disciples acknowledge, "Now we understand that You know all things." His omnipotence is evident in His miracles, such as calming the storm (Mark 4:39) and raising the dead (John 11:43-44).

Moreover, Jesus exercises divine authority in forgiving sins, a prerogative of God alone. In Mark 2:5-7, Jesus forgives the sins of a paralytic, prompting the scribes to question, "Who can forgive sins but God alone?" Jesus' authority to forgive sins underscores His divine identity.

Worship and Adoration

The worship and adoration of Jesus by His followers further affirm His divinity. In Matthew 14:33, after Jesus walks on water, those in the boat worship Him, saying, "Truly You are the Son of God." The acceptance of worship, which is due to God alone, signifies His divine status.

In Revelation 5:12-13, the heavenly hosts proclaim, "Worthy is the Lamb who was slain, to receive power and riches and wisdom and strength and honor and glory and blessing!" This doxology, directed to Jesus, places Him on equal footing with God the Father, who is also worshiped in the same passage.
