In Isaiah 53:11, the Suffering Servant is described: "After the anguish of His soul, He will see the light of life and be satisfied. By His knowledge My righteous Servant will justify many, and He will bear their iniquities." This prophecy points to the Messiah, whose suffering and knowledge will result in the justification of many, indicating a transfer of righteousness.

New Testament Fulfillment

The New Testament writers, particularly Paul, draw heavily on these Old Testament predictions to articulate the doctrine of imputed righteousness. In Romans 4:5-6, Paul references the faith of Abraham: "However, to the one who does not work but believes in Him who justifies the wicked, his faith is credited as righteousness. And David speaks likewise of the blessedness of the man to whom God credits righteousness apart from works."

Paul further clarifies this doctrine in 2 Corinthians 5:21: "God made Him who knew no sin to be sin on our behalf, so that in Him we might become the righteousness of God." This verse encapsulates the essence of imputed righteousness, where Christ's righteousness is attributed to believers, fulfilling the prophetic anticipation seen in the Old Testament.
