Furthermore, the Holy Spirit's involvement in the divine work of salvation and sanctification is indicative of His status as God. In 2 Corinthians 3:17, Paul writes, "Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom." This verse not only identifies the Spirit as Lord but also highlights His role in liberating believers, a work attributed to Jehovah.

Worship and Reverence

The worship and reverence given to the Holy Spirit further affirm His identity as Jehovah. In the Great Commission, Jesus commands His disciples to baptize "in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit" (Matthew 28:19). The doxology in 2 Corinthians 13:14, "The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ and the love of God and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you all," also reflects the Holy Spirit's divine status. The benediction invokes the presence and blessing of the Holy Spirit alongside the Father and the Son, acknowledging His role as Jehovah in the life of believers.
