Vindicate Me, O LORD

לְדָוִ֨ד׀ (Of David).

1שָׁפְטֵ֤נִי (Judge me), יְהוָ֗ה (O YHWH)!

כִּֽי־ (For) אֲ֭נִי (I) בְּתֻמִּ֣י (in my integrity) הָלַ֑כְתִּי (have walked),

וּבַיהוָ֥ה (and in YHWH) בָּ֝טַ֗חְתִּי (I have trusted) לֹ֣א (without) אֶמְעָֽד׃ (slipping).

2  בְּחָנֵ֣נִי (Examine me), יְהוָ֣ה (O YHWH), וְנַסֵּ֑נִי (and test me);

צְרוֹפָה (refine) כִלְיוֹתַ֣י (my kidneys) וְלִבִּֽי׃ (and my heart).

3  כִּֽי־ (For) חַ֭סְדְּךָ (Your loving devotion is) לְנֶ֣גֶד (before) עֵינָ֑י (my eyes),

וְ֝הִתְהַלַּ֗כְתִּי (and I have walked) בַּאֲמִתֶּֽךָ׃ (in Your truth).

4  לֹא־ (Not) יָ֭שַׁבְתִּי (do I sit) עִם־ (with) מְתֵי־ (men) שָׁ֑וְא (of vanity),

וְעִ֥ם (and with) נַ֝עֲלָמִ֗ים (dissemblers) לֹ֣א (not) אָבֽוֹא׃ (will I go in).

5  שָׂ֭נֵאתִי (I hate) קְהַ֣ל (the assembly) מְרֵעִ֑ים (of evildoers),

וְעִם־ (and with) רְ֝שָׁעִ֗ים (the wicked) לֹ֣א (not) אֵשֵֽׁב׃ (do I sit).

6  אֶרְחַ֣ץ (I wash) בְּנִקָּי֣וֹן (in innocence) כַּפָּ֑י (my hands),

וַאֲסֹבְבָ֖ה (and I go about) אֶת־ (-) מִזְבַּחֲךָ֣ (Your altar), יְהוָֽה׃ (O YHWH),

7  לַ֭שְׁמִעַ (to sound) בְּק֣וֹל (with a voice) תּוֹדָ֑ה (of thanksgiving),

וּ֝לְסַפֵּ֗ר (and to recount) כָּל־ (all) נִפְלְאוֹתֶֽיךָ׃ (Your wonders).

8  יְֽהוָ֗ה (O YHWH), אָ֭הַבְתִּי (I love) מְע֣וֹן (the habitation) בֵּיתֶ֑ךָ (of Your house),

וּ֝מְק֗וֹם (and the place) מִשְׁכַּ֥ן (of the dwelling) כְּבוֹדֶֽךָ׃ (of Your glory).

9  אַל־ (Not) תֶּאֱסֹ֣ף (should You gather along) עִם־ (with) חַטָּאִ֣ים (sinners) נַפְשִׁ֑י (my soul),

וְעִם־ (and with) אַנְשֵׁ֖י (men) דָמִ֣ים (of blood) חַיָּֽי׃ (my life),

10  אֲשֶׁר־ (in whose) בִּידֵיהֶ֥ם (hands) זִמָּ֑ה (is a scheme),

וִֽ֝ימִינָ֗ם (and whose right hand) מָ֣לְאָה (is filled) שֹּֽׁחַד׃ (with a bribe).

11  וַ֭אֲנִי (And I) בְּתֻמִּ֥י (in my integrity) אֵלֵ֗ךְ (walk);

פְּדֵ֣נִי (redeem me) וְחָנֵּֽנִי׃ (and be merciful to me).

12  רַ֭גְלִי (My foot) עָֽמְדָ֣ה (stands) בְמִישׁ֑וֹר (on level ground);

בְּ֝מַקְהֵלִ֗ים (in the assemblies) אֲבָרֵ֥ךְ (I will bless) יְהוָֽה׃ (YHWH).
