To You I lift Up My Soul
לְדָוִ֡ד (of David).
1אֵלֶ֥יךָ (Unto You) יְ֝הוָ֗ה (O YHWH), נַפְשִׁ֥י (my soul) אֶשָּֽׂא׃ (I lift up).
2 אֱֽלֹהַ֗י (My God), בְּךָ֣ (in You) בָ֭טַחְתִּי (I trust).
אַל־ (Not) אֵב֑וֹשָׁה (do let me be put to shame);
אַל־ (not) יַֽעַלְצ֖וּ (let rejoice) אֹיְבַ֣י (my enemies) לִֽי׃ (over me).
3 גַּ֣ם (Indeed), כָּל־ (all) קֹ֭וֶיךָ (those waiting on You) לֹ֣א (not) יֵבֹ֑שׁוּ (will be put to shame);
יֵ֝בֹ֗שׁוּ (will be ashamed) הַבּוֹגְדִ֥ים (those who act treacherously) רֵיקָֽם׃ (without cause).
4 דְּרָכֶ֣יךָ (Your ways), יְ֭הוָה (O YHWH), הוֹדִיעֵ֑נִי (may You show me);
אֹ֖רְחוֹתֶ֣יךָ (Your paths) לַמְּדֵֽנִי׃ (may You teach me).
5 הַדְרִ֘יכֵ֤נִי (Make me to walk) בַאֲמִתֶּ֨ךָ׀ (in Your truth) וְֽלַמְּדֵ֗נִי (and teach me),
כִּֽי־ (for) אַ֭תָּה (You are) אֱלֹהֵ֣י (the God) יִשְׁעִ֑י (of my salvation);
אוֹתְךָ֥ (on You) קִ֝וִּ֗יתִי (I wait) כָּל־ (all) הַיּֽוֹם׃ (the day).
6 זְכֹר־ (Remember) רַחֲמֶ֣יךָ (Your mercies), יְ֭הוָה (O YHWH), וַחֲסָדֶ֑יךָ (and Your loving devotion),
כִּ֖י (for) מֵעוֹלָ֣ם (from of old) הֵֽמָּה׃ (they are).
7 חַטֹּ֤אות (The sins) נְעוּרַ֨י׀ (of my youth), וּפְשָׁעַ֗י (and my transgressions), אַל־ (not)
תִּ֫זְכֹּ֥ר (shall You remember);
כְּחַסְדְּךָ֥ (according to Your loving devotion) זְכָר־ (remember) לִי־ (me) אַ֑תָּה (You),
לְמַ֖עַן (for the sake) טוּבְךָ֣ (of Your goodness), יְהוָֽה׃ (O YHWH).
8 טוֹב־ (Good) וְיָשָׁ֥ר (and upright) יְהוָ֑ה (is YHWH);
עַל־ (upon) כֵּ֤ן (thus) יוֹרֶ֖ה (He directs) חַטָּאִ֣ים (sinful ones) בַּדָּֽרֶךְ׃ (in the way).
9 יַדְרֵ֣ךְ (He guides) עֲ֭נָוִים (the humble ones) בַּמִּשְׁפָּ֑ט (in justice),
וִֽילַמֵּ֖ד (and He teaches) עֲנָוִ֣ים (the humble ones) דַּרְכּֽוֹ׃ (His way).
10 כָּל־ (All) אָרְח֣וֹת (the paths) יְ֭הוָה (of YHWH) חֶ֣סֶד (are loving devotion) וֶאֱמֶ֑ת (and truth)
לְנֹצְרֵ֥י (to those keeping) בְ֝רִית֗וֹ (His covenant) וְעֵדֹתָֽיו׃ (and His decrees).
11 לְמַֽעַן־ (For the sake) שִׁמְךָ֥ (of Your name), יְהוָ֑ה (O YHWH),
וְֽסָלַחְתָּ֥ (and You have pardoned) לַ֝עֲוֺנִ֗י (my iniquity), כִּ֣י (though) רַב־ (great) הֽוּא׃ (it is).
12 מִי־ (Who is) זֶ֣ה (this) הָ֭אִישׁ (man) יְרֵ֣א (fearing) יְהוָ֑ה (YHWH)?
י֝וֹרֶ֗נּוּ (He will direct him) בְּדֶ֣רֶךְ (in the way) יִבְחָֽר׃ (he must choose).
13 נַ֭פְשׁוֹ (His soul) בְּט֣וֹב (in goodness) תָּלִ֑ין (shall dwell),
וְ֝זַרְע֗וֹ (and his seed) יִ֣ירַשׁ (shall possess) אָֽרֶץ׃ (the land).
14 ס֣וֹד (The counsel) יְ֭הוָה (of YHWH) לִירֵאָ֑יו (is with those fearing Him),
וּ֝בְרִית֗וֹ (and His covenant) לְהוֹדִיעָֽם׃ (and He makes known to them).
15 עֵינַ֣י (My eyes are) תָּ֭מִיד (continually) אֶל־ (toward) יְהוָ֑ה (YHWH);
כִּ֤י (for) הֽוּא־ (He) יוֹצִ֖יא (brings out) מֵרֶ֣שֶׁת (from a net) רַגְלָֽי׃ (my feet).
16 פְּנֵה־ (May You turn) אֵלַ֥י (to me) וְחָנֵּ֑נִי (and show favor to me),
כִּֽי־ (for) יָחִ֖יד (lonely) וְעָנִ֣י (and afflicted) אָֽנִי׃ (I am).
17 צָר֣וֹת (The troubles) לְבָבִ֣י (of my heart) הִרְחִ֑יבוּ (have enlarged);
מִ֝מְּצֽוּקוֹתַ֗י (from my distress) הוֹצִיאֵֽנִי׃ (may You bring me out).
18 רְאֵ֣ה (Look on) עָ֭נְיִי (my affliction) וַעֲמָלִ֑י (and my trouble),
וְ֝שָׂ֗א (and lift) לְכָל־ (all) חַטֹּאותָֽי׃ (my sins).
19 רְאֵֽה־ (See) אוֹיְבַ֥י (my enemies), כִּי־ (for) רָ֑בּוּ (they are many),
וְשִׂנְאַ֖ת (and with hatred) חָמָ֣ס (violent) שְׂנֵאֽוּנִי׃ (they hate me).
20 שָׁמְרָ֣ה (Guard) נַ֭פְשִׁי (my soul) וְהַצִּילֵ֑נִי (and deliver me);
אַל־ (not) אֵ֝ב֗וֹשׁ (do let me be put to shame),
כִּֽי־ (for) חָסִ֥יתִי (I take refuge) בָֽךְ׃ (in You).
21 תֹּם־ (May integrity) וָיֹ֥שֶׁר (and uprightness) יִצְּר֑וּנִי (keep me),
כִּ֝֗י (for) קִוִּיתִֽיךָ׃ (I wait for You).
22 פְּדֵ֣ה (May You redeem) אֱ֭לֹהִים (O God), אֶת־ (-) יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל (Israel),
מִ֝כֹּ֗ל (from all) צָֽרוֹתָיו׃ (his distress).
