The Transgression of the Wicked

לַמְנַצֵּ֬חַ׀ (For the one directing). לְעֶֽבֶד־ (Of the servant) יְהוָ֬ה (of YHWH), לְדָוִֽד׃ (of David).

נְאֻֽם־ (An utterance) 1פֶּ֣שַׁע (of the transgression) לָ֭רָשָׁע (of the wicked)

בְּקֶ֣רֶב (is within) לִבִּ֑י (my heart):

אֵֽין־ (There is no) פַּ֥חַד (dread) אֱ֝לֹהִ֗ים (of God)

לְנֶ֣גֶד (before) עֵינָֽיו׃ (his eyes).

2  כִּֽי־ (For) הֶחֱלִ֣יק (he is flattering) אֵלָ֣יו (to himself) בְּעֵינָ֑יו (in his own eyes),

לִמְצֹ֖א (having found) עֲוֺנ֣וֹ (his iniquity) לִשְׂנֹֽא׃ (to be hated).

3  דִּבְרֵי־ (The words) פִ֭יו (of his mouth) אָ֣וֶן (are wickedness) וּמִרְמָ֑ה (and deceit);

חָדַ֖ל (He has ceased) לְהַשְׂכִּ֣יל (to be prudent) לְהֵיטִֽיב׃ (and do good).

4  אָ֤וֶן׀ (Iniquity) יַחְשֹׁ֗ב (he devises) עַֽל־ (upon) מִשְׁכָּ֫ב֥וֹ (his bed);

יִ֭תְיַצֵּב (he stands himself) עַל־ (on) דֶּ֣רֶךְ (a path) לֹא־ (that is not) ט֑וֹב (good);

רָ֝֗ע (evil) לֹ֣א (not) יִמְאָֽס׃ (does he reject).

5  יְ֭הוָה (O YHWH), בְּהַשָּׁמַ֣יִם (in the heavens) חַסְדֶּ֑ךָ (is Your loving devotion),

אֱ֝מֽוּנָתְךָ֗ (Your faithfulness) עַד־ (as far as) שְׁחָקִֽים׃ (the clouds).

6  צִדְקָֽתְךָ֨׀ (Your righteousness is) כְּֽהַרְרֵי־ (like the mountains) אֵ֗ל (of Might);

מִ֭שְׁפָּטֶךָ (Your ordinances) תְּה֣וֹם (the deep) רַבָּ֑ה (great);

אָ֤דָֽם־ (man) וּבְהֵמָ֖ה (and beast) תוֹשִׁ֣יעַ (You keep safe), יְהוָֽה׃ (O YHWH).

7  מַה־ (How) יָּקָ֥ר (precious) חַסְדְּךָ֗ (is Your loving devotion), אֱלֹ֫הִ֥ים (O God)!

וּבְנֵ֥י (And even the sons) אָדָ֑ם (of man) בְּצֵ֥ל (under the shadow)

כְּ֝נָפֶ֗יךָ (of Your wings) יֶחֱסָיֽוּן׃ (take refuge).

8  יִ֭רְוְיֻן (They are filled) מִדֶּ֣שֶׁן (from the fatness) בֵּיתֶ֑ךָ (of Your house),

וְנַ֖חַל (and from the stream) עֲדָנֶ֣יךָ (of Your delights) תַשְׁקֵֽם׃ (You give them to drink).

9  כִּֽי־ (For) עִ֭מְּךָ (with You) מְק֣וֹר (is the fountain) חַיִּ֑ים (of life);

בְּ֝אוֹרְךָ֗ (in Your light) נִרְאֶה־ (we see) אֽוֹר׃ (light).

10  מְשֹׁ֣ךְ (Draw out) חַ֭סְדְּךָ (Your loving devotion) לְיֹדְעֶ֑יךָ (to those knowing You),

וְ֝צִדְקָֽתְךָ֗ (and Your righteousness) לְיִשְׁרֵי־ (to the upright) לֵֽב׃ (of heart).

11  אַל־ (Do not) תְּ֭בוֹאֵנִי (come against me) רֶ֣גֶל (the foot) גַּאֲוָ֑ה (of pride),

וְיַד־ (and the hand) רְ֝שָׁעִ֗ים (of the wicked) אַל־ (do not) תְּנִדֵֽנִי׃ (let it drive me away).

12  שָׁ֣ם (There) נָ֭פְלוּ (do fall) פֹּ֣עֲלֵי (the workers) אָ֑וֶן (of iniquity);

דֹּ֝ח֗וּ (they have been cast down) וְלֹא־ (and not) יָ֥כְלוּ (are they able) קֽוּם׃ (to rise).
