King James Bible | International Standard Version |
O give thanks unto the LORD; for he is good: because his mercy endureth for ever. | 1Give thanks to the LORD, for he is good; his gracious love is eternal. |
Let Israel now say, that his mercy endureth for ever. | 2Let Israel now say, "His gracious love is eternal." |
Let the house of Aaron now say, that his mercy endureth for ever. | 3Let the house of Aaron now say, "His gracious love is eternal." |
Let them now that fear the LORD say, that his mercy endureth for ever. | 4Let those who fear the LORD now say, "His gracious love is eternal." |
I called upon the LORD in distress: the LORD answered me, and set me in a large place. | 5I called on the LORD in my distress; the LORD answered me openly. |
The LORD is on my side; I will not fear: what can man do unto me? | 6The LORD is with me. I will not be afraid. What can people do to me? |
The LORD taketh my part with them that help me: therefore shall I see my desire upon them that hate me. | 7With the LORD beside me as my helper, I will triumph over those who hate me. |
It is better to trust in the LORD than to put confidence in man. | 8It is better to take shelter in the LORD than to trust in people. |
It is better to trust in the LORD than to put confidence in princes. | 9It is better to take shelter in the LORD than to trust in princes. |
All nations compassed me about: but in the name of the LORD will I destroy them. | 10All the nations surrounded me; but in the name of the LORD I will defeat them. |
They compassed me about; yea, they compassed me about: but in the name of the LORD I will destroy them. | 11They surrounded me, they are around me; but in the name of the LORD I will defeat them. |
They compassed me about like bees; they are quenched as the fire of thorns: for in the name of the LORD I will destroy them. | 12They surrounded me like bees; but they will be extinguished like burning thorns. In the name of the LORD I will defeat them. |
Thou hast thrust sore at me that I might fall: but the LORD helped me. | 13Indeed, you oppressed me so much that I nearly fell, but the LORD helped me. |
The LORD is my strength and song, and is become my salvation. | 14The LORD is my strength and protector, for he has become my deliverer. |
The voice of rejoicing and salvation is in the tabernacles of the righteous: the right hand of the LORD doeth valiantly. | 15There's exultation for deliverance in the tents of the righteous: "The right hand of the LORD is victorious! |
The right hand of the LORD is exalted: the right hand of the LORD doeth valiantly. | 16The right hand of the LORD is exalted! The right hand of the LORD is victorious!" |
I shall not die, but live, and declare the works of the LORD. | 17I will not die, but I will live to recount the deeds of the LORD. |
The LORD hath chastened me sore: but he hath not given me over unto death. | 18The LORD will discipline me severely, but he won't hand me over to die. |
Open to me the gates of righteousness: I will go into them, and I will praise the LORD: | 19Open for me the righteous gates so I may enter through them to give thanks to the LORD. |
This gate of the LORD, into which the righteous shall enter. | 20This is the LORD's gate— The righteous will enter through it. |
I will praise thee: for thou hast heard me, and art become my salvation. | 21I will praise you because you have answered me and have become my deliverer. |
The stone which the builders refused is become the head stone of the corner. | 22The stone that the builders rejected has become the cornerstone. |
This is the LORD'S doing; it is marvellous in our eyes. | 23This is from the LORD— it is awesome in our sight. |
This is the day which the LORD hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it. | 24This is the day that the LORD has made; let's rejoice and be glad in it. |
Save now, I beseech thee, O LORD: O LORD, I beseech thee, send now prosperity. | 25Please LORD, deliver us! Please LORD, hurry and bring success now! |
Blessed be he that cometh in the name of the LORD: we have blessed you out of the house of the LORD. | 26Blessed is the one who comes in the name of the LORD! Let us bless you from the LORD's house. |
God is the LORD, which hath shewed us light: bind the sacrifice with cords, even unto the horns of the altar. | 27The LORD is God—he will be our light! Bind the festival sacrifice with ropes to the horn at the altar. |
Thou art my God, and I will praise thee: thou art my God, I will exalt thee. | 28You are my God, and I will praise you; my God, and I will exalt you. |
O give thanks unto the LORD; for he is good: for his mercy endureth for ever. | 29Give thanks to the LORD, for he is good and his gracious love is eternal. |
