| 3Zaccheus was trying to see who Jesus was, and was unable because of the crowd, for he was small in stature. | 3And he was seeking to see who Jesus was, but on account of the crowd he could not, because he was small in stature. |

| 21for I was afraid of you, because you are an exacting man; you take up what you did not lay down and reap what you did not sow.' | 21for I was afraid of you, because you are a severe man. You take what you did not deposit, and reap what you did not sow.’ |
| 22"He said to him, 'By your own words I will judge you, you worthless slave. Did you know that I am an exacting man, taking up what I did not lay down and reaping what I did not sow? | 22He said to him, ‘I will condemn you with your own words, you wicked servant! You knew that I was a severe man, taking what I did not deposit and reaping what I did not sow? |
| 23'Then why did you not put my money in the bank, and having come, I would have collected it with interest?' | 23Why then did you not put my money in the bank, and at my coming I might have collected it with interest?’ |
| 24"Then he said to the bystanders, 'Take the mina away from him and give it to the one who has the ten minas.' | 24And he said to those who stood by, ‘Take the mina from him, and give it to the one who has the ten minas.’ |
| 25"And they said to him, 'Master, he has ten minas already.' | 25And they said to him, ‘Lord, he has ten minas!’ |
| 26"I tell you that to everyone who has, more shall be given, but from the one who does not have, even what he does have shall be taken away. | 26‘I tell you that to everyone who has, more will be given, but from the one who has not, even what he has will be taken away. |
| 27"But these enemies of mine, who did not want me to reign over them, bring them here and slay them in my presence." | 27But as for these enemies of mine, who did not want me to reign over them, bring them here and slaughter them before me.’” |

| 47And He was teaching daily in the temple; but the chief priests and the scribes and the leading men among the people were trying to destroy Him, | 47And he was teaching daily in the temple. The chief priests and the scribes and the principal men of the people were seeking to destroy him, |
| 48and they could not find anything that they might do, for all the people were hanging on to every word He said. | 48but they did not find anything they could do, for all the people were hanging on his words. |
